someone else had a problem with one of these recipes a while back; can you remember which of the recipes you used Ninno? I need to investigate and take the link down if its not useful.

Hi - it was the first of the 3 listed - I think that the problem was with the 425ml milk - other recipes I have seen since have about half that quantity

  • Hello everyone,
I have had a busy day catching up with chores that didn't get any attention during the work week and while I was at it I cooked a huge lentil soup for my packed lunches and have prepped a bean and veggie sausage cassoulet to cook tomorrow. I also made a delish loaf of bread and think I have got the hang of the breadmaker.
I had intended to go to the farmers' market, but decided I had enough fruit and veg to last me until next weekend, so it wasn't necessary. So no shopping required until Friday, which will be my last shop of this month. By George, I think I will do it!

I slimmed Mr F down from 23 stone - which he was when we met - to 13 stone 10lbs when last weighed this week. No WW or special food. Just portion control/no junk food/no take aways/no alcohol - plenty of fruit/veg. Once the weight started to come off - he was more active so that helped.

thats so good - my dh said he is going on a diet from Mond (famous last words) needs to lose about 4 stone. His prob is portion size and even if I give him a smaller portion he will wander into the kitchen to see if any more in the pot and help himself - if I don't buy snacky foods in he will make himself a huge cheese sandwich an hour after evening meal - seriously needs some willpower!

How big are your dinner plates? Mine had a fatal accident, was just lifting them out of the cupboard to clean and reorganise it and I dropped them! Oh! dear how clumsy of me! New ones from Wilko's are smaller? No they are not, they're the same size, you're imagining it!

I also box up left overs straight away and bung them in the fridge and they are put in the freezer as soon as I go through to wash up if they need to go.

Could you do a pudding for afters? Needn't be high fat or sugar. Do stuff with more veggies, fill him up on those. Do some baking so there is a couple of cupcakes available, rest in the freezer and just take a couple out to defrost ready for him.

Is he up for a virtual challenge - I need to start afresh and am taking the advice re portion sizes.

I am aiming for another NSD here in Ninno towers - its a lovely day and I need to blow some cobwebs away and just go for a walk. Oh - and tidy the house before returning towork tomorrow after a yummy half term!

    Take care everyone xx
