Another £20 spent in sainsburys. A joint of pork and 2lots of reduced beef casserole steak. A few other bits as. I'm starting weight watchers tomorrow and I think I will have to up my budget to accommodate the stuff I should be eating x0

Gosh - I've only been doing this challenge for a few weeks and I can't tell you the difference it's made to my thinking. I'm still reeling with shock at having spent £64.44 (and some of that was from clothing budget, DH's pocket money and 2nd purse purchases) at Insainsburys yesterday, when I regularly used to spend £120 - £140 there without batting an eyelid. I feel so uncomfortable buying anything that isn't reduced. It's starting to get on DH's nerves - so I must remember not to take him with me again lol!
NSD today - not doing so well with those.0 -

Hi all,
Really gone mad this month with yet more spends to report!!!
£18 in M&S, together with the £7 living social that I initially paid, makes £25. Not bad as I got 6xwines, and plenty of meat/juice.
£2.30 on another velvet at coop.
£7 at morrisons, used 5 x MOCs and got weetabix, cambels, yogurts and surf.
£9 at LIDL, bread, milk, veg, crisps and flowers (love them!)
so £36.30 today, but stash is looking healthier than in recent months!!! Just hope I don't move house again and need to drag it all with me!
Spent a lot of today doing the SSM Mission control, and printing out the MOCS. As long as the items are on offer, I think I could use these to boost my stocks further, but I will need to start next month as already over budget for Feb.
Cannot wait for payday, as started in Dec, and have not been paid yet. Fingers crossed!!xx
Hope all are doing better than me, off to update siggi in shame!!

Went round T today, me armed with list, and dd armed with calculator! Managed to only spend £12.76, unfortunately that now means I'm £3.11 over budget for Feb, with another shop to do next weekend. Still, I'm still doing ok, and enjoying the challenge.
Going to put children to bed, and then I'll be back to update my signature.
PG xGrocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. Only food, not toiletries. Jan £87.97/£100 Feb £0/£100

Just portion control/no junk food/no take aways/no alcohol - plenty of fruit/veg. Once the weight started to come off - he was more active so that helped.
Florenceem Wow!!! you should publish your meal plans - you could make a fortune if you marketed that. That is so difficult to do. My DH lost just under 3 stone doing SW with me but he was hungry all the time and became a secret night time snacker. He finally confessed after several weeks of small gains. I was really demoralised and we stopped going after a while and needless to say, much of the weight has come back (less so for me but still too lardy for my liking). Mr F's almost ten stone takes him from morbidly obese to normal weight. That is so impressive. :A :T:TSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

Thanks ever so much Spiggle for suggesting the dinner party might be funded from the entertainment budget.... :TI was feeling so disheartened that I'd bust the GC budget. I've done some sums and altogether I reckon I spent £72 including wine (although we drank a couple of bottles from the rack too!) It will take all this months entertainment budget and some of next but will even out over the year I think
The menu was:
Arrival drinks - Gin Fizz (Hairy bikers recipe)
nibbles - HM bread bruschetta with home made hummus and Chicken liver pate with HM roast red pepper chutney, olives and pickled mini peppers.
mussels rockerfella with buttered samphire (and a bottle of semillon))
trio of tartlets (Goats cheese and red onion marmalade puffs, cherry tomato and feta filo tarts and pear, dolcelatte and walnut shortcrust tart. (bottle of rioja) served with HM remoulade, HM rocket parmesan and balsamic salad, HM potato salad and HM spiced apple red cabbage slaw.
HM Gorgonzola tortelini on a puddle of pea soup (bottle of tarapaca)
Portobello mushrooms stuffed with wm breadcrumbs, edam, pine nuts and parsley (bound with egg) (Bottle of merlot)
HM lemon syllabub with HM chocolate chip shortbread (with a sweet white wine)
Cheeseboard (10 varieties was the most expensive thing coming in at £34.25!) and a whole bottle of port
Fresh coffee served with HM double chocolate slice
and 2 further litres of merlot:o:o:o
Washing up was a marathon and I finally crawled into bed at 0415 mumbling something like " never again! next time we have chip butties!":rotfl::rotfl:
Will amend my signature
Thanks ever so much. Early night tonight! (and jacket potato for tea!)
