Florenceem Wow!!! you should publish your meal plans - you could make a fortune if you marketed that. That is so difficult to do. My DH lost just under 3 stone doing SW with me but he was hungry all the time and became a secret night time snacker. He finally confessed after several weeks of small gains. I was really demoralised and we stopped going after a while and needless to say, much of the weight has come back (less so for me but still too lardy for my liking). Mr F's almost ten stone takes him from morbidly obese to normal weight. That is so impressive. :A :T:T
I post what we have for dinner every night on - What are you making for dinner thread. People think/ask him if he has had weight loss surgery - I say - he just has a brilliant dietitian. :rotfl: Even Mil is impressed - and it is sure hard to impress that woman! :D

Hi everyone, brilliant thread and I often see posts that I would like to reply to individually but there are so many I don't know where I would find the time!

I spend 16.49 in Toscos today. I am almost over budget for the month but don't plan on buying any more until I get back from France w/c 27th Feb.

.. On a downside I made the magic lemon pudding mentioned on page one. Dont know if the quantities are right but it ended up like a small meringue top with loads of lemon sauce. It tasted nice but very heavy use of eggs for very little. Has anyone else had success with this recipe or is t me?

someone else had a problem with one of these recipes a while back; can you remember which of the recipes you used Ninno? I need to investigate and take the link down if its not useful.

  • Just formed a cunning plan in my head for next months gc challenge, when I was shopping got a £10 off £50 shop for first time delivery for sainsbos it expires 8th March and I have been mainly eating out of the freezer and cupboards all month and am running low in meat i. Freezer draw, so will use this to stock up. Next month and continue to eat out of freezer, I know it will take a chunk of my budget, but hopefully i won't need loads if I stock up, my cupboards are really full, don't need pasta as I have loads, have 10tins of tons, may get a few more, need tinker sweetcorn, will buy another 2kg of rice and will stock up on meat and freezer stuff, the money will go a long way in my fridge.

Evening all. Had a very spendy day today but, out of £91.19 spent only £13.32 was out of the grocery budget. Managed to get the takeaway secret book for 99p from the W0rks. The last copy in the shop. :D
    Hugs to all.

  • Wow, what an impressive meal Kylie! Fancy cooking for me one day? I'll do the washing up!!

Sig updated now, and I'm really pleased that I'm on par so far for the year. Considering that I did a weekly shop today, and don't NEED to buy anything for the rest of the week now. As long as I stay strong (ie out of the shops!), I could get my figures up to 15% of year gone with 13.5 % spent. Need to keep this up, so I can treat us during the summer hols, and then again at Christmas. I don't need to big a budget for Christmas, as the children will be with their dad from Christmas eve until about 4pm on Christmas day, so I'm not doing the roast, but I will get us some nice treaty things (or make some stuff ;)).

Can't believe I just talked about Christmas!! How OS am I?!?!

Dinner today was: nothing for ds as he was at a party today, noodles for dd (her choice) and I had ood cheesy oatcakes with philly and coleslaw that needed using up. Nice and easy!

Tomorrow we are having sausage casserole, a firm favourite, which will create leftovers for monday too. We'll have it with mash tom, and pasta monday. I'm not feeding the children on tues or weds (at their dad's), so as I got some ma-hoo-sive spuds ready for jacketing in my bag this week, I'm going to use some mince from the freezer and a chilli jar from the pantry (please don't judge!!) and have that both nights. This will use up stuff, and be tasty too. Thursday will be fish pie, and then the ch are back with their dad for the weekend so I'll decide what I'm having nearer the time.

I've found three purses that were sat in the wardrobe getting dusty, and they will be used for other budgetting areas. One for petrol, one for entertainment, and one for gifts (birthday parties, friends and family). As it is working so well for the gc, I thought I would see if it can help me with those areas of my limited finances. I will also be able to see if I am over or under-budgetting for these areas.

    Hope you're all doing well,

    PG x

    Hello :)

Time for my weekly update......£145.68 spent now, so should easily stay within budget this month, only one 'big' shop to go and possibly the odd top-up. I've been thinking that I might include cleaning materials in the future - I buy most of them with my food shopping anyway, so it makes sense. I'll probably keep my budget at the same level for March in that case, and see how I go.
