Phew - found you. Keep going -even if no one replies. Just writing everything down is really cathartic - as I know you have found on the grocery thread. Well done on this step in your journey and good luck with the job hunting - what field are you trying to enter?44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
Well done. I really wish you success with this. I really think that being conscious of what we are spending is key to getting and keeping it under control. And as we know, the grocery challenge is brilliant for giving us fresh ideas and support in doing this. I didn't know these were here (I'm not very adventurous on the forums, being slightly overwhelmed by how many there are, and not being able to visualise how they all fit together means it is confuring for me as I learn visually).
Best of luck

Well hello Cleggie! :hello:
Nice shiny new thread and a great place for you to collect your thoughts and activities. :T Please don't let this get in the way of visiting us on the GC mind!
I wish you all the very best with your course - I did the mature student thing 12 years ago and it really was the best thing I've ever done (excluding MS of course :rotfl:).
I thought I'd act as your post it note and just say:
Cleggie do not visit the supermarket!!!
Truly wish you all the very best,

Thanks OrangeFairy!
As well as this DFD and the GC, i have also signed up to the Feb NSD challenge.
I did start off joining up to loads of challenges, but always felt like a failure as i wasnt able to fulfill them all.
Now i am only doing the GC and NSD as those are the 2 that will make the biggest impact on my finances.
I dont have huge debt, and i SHOULDNT have a huge grocery bill each week either.
I think my 1st plan will be-Take £60 out of the bank every week (on a Friday or Monday normally) and that will have to see me through the week for food.
The actual food shop will be done in Lidl (Thurs) and Morrisons (Mon), as i pass both of these places every week without fail, so therefore i save pettrol (as mentioned in the 1st post).
I am hoping that every few weeks or so, i can add to my list of things to help me on my way.0 -

A pleasure, I've been following you on the grocery challenge. I'm thinking of joining it myself to try to rein in my food overspending.
