Wow Jinty - well done :j:j

    Elfen a well done too!:D

Well, not a good start to the month spendy wise - got hit at work yesterday with the monthly contribution to the tea fund so decided as I'd already spent I'd better top up the mobile (which I've been meaning to do since before Christmas:o).

Added £10 and will be interesting to see how long it lasts - I last topped up in December 2010 :T with £40 (and I used to be addicted to texting:o and went through loads of money on it).

Today ..... well car service day:eek:. Got off to a bad start when the insurance co tried to charge a £48:eek: admin fee to switch my cover over to the courtesy car  (I declined and got added to the garage's insurance for £10).

Then there was the service itself (£220) and I need new tyres:(. They are budgeted for this year but don't have enough in the car pot as yet and was hoping they'd do 2/3 more months but sadly not.

Feeling pretty skint now as car has been taxed for 12 months, breakdown cover renewed for the year and now the service - all in the last week:eek:.

Will be hunting around to try to find some decent (and cheap) tyres......

((hugs)) and congratulations to all as appropriate

off the NSD starting blocks with #1 :T

unfortunately not off the starting blocks with my running :( didn't feel up to a run on Monday, then ended up cutting Tuesday's short as I was having problems with my breathing (very unusual) and felt like I was starting with my 3rd chest infection in 8 months :( decided not to risk it yesterday, but didn't sleep especially well last night and as a result I've not managed to get out today either..... gym session tomorrow morning, so will have to see how I feel after that for doing one in the afternoon - as my only other chance is very early Saturday before going to visit my DD for the afternoon :o

I am finding it a wee bit hard to keep up with all the posts on here. There is a lot of late night chat. Is this the home of the insomniac forumites? :rotfl:

NSD #2 for me today :D

I'm back on the wagon with Fat Club again, so brought my lunch to work and have been filling up my water bottle from the machine there, so it's free ;) I went for a long walk at lunchtime to resist boredom spends in the nearby supermarket and have been good tonight too.
  • Hi everyone.
I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday, the first day since I joined the site in December. Work is so busy and manic at the moment I can hardly stand it. I just hope that I get an interview for the job I applied for. Change as good as a rest and all.
Jinty, congratulations on getting to your target...
I had nsd#1 yesterday but a bit of a spendy day today. I had to put liquid gold in the car (£56), then a tenner on dinner (takeaway as I was so late home), pay the man who cleans my bin £2, and then £1 for dd's non uniform day tomorrow. Oh, and I managed to talk my mobile people into a cheaper contract after all, so although that's technically money saving I feel like I've spent.
Hopefully tomorrow and Saturday should both be nsd's. Sunday is shopping day this weekend, and I may convince OH to pay if he comes along... :D

Evening all! Mmm, I see you all started without me....any of the housewarming party food and booze left? Nah, didn't think there would be, with an army of NSD gannets around to turn the leftovers into next week's packed lunches....

Well, as I am here (and just as well I have eaten because I knew I couldn't guarantee on any leftover nosh with you lot about) I might as well announce my target for February will be a modest but (for me) slightly challenging 12 please!!!

And I have already achieved 1 of those so the Nargle's off the starting blocks!

Pheweee, look at all those newbies on the list!
Spoonbabes, you will have to consider building an extension to the Tardis to accommodate everyone on our nights out.
I suggest we include a lockable cellar where Igor can live so he can concoct his weird concoctions and plan the catering for the outings without stinking out Chateau Nargle. And perhaps a giant cupboard specifically designated for chocolate storage. Just don't put it too close to the massage and steam room otherwise we will be wading through melted chocolate. (Although there are worse ways to go....)

On an NSD note, I have the past couple of weeks ago started to go to the greengrocers in the next village for all my fruit and veg requirements, rather than supermarkets. That way I have to pay in cash, and the stuff is decent quality, the service is really good and friendly, and it works out cheaper. That's my tip for the day, together with use your local butcher, or local market for meat, fish, cheese if you are lucky to have one near you.
