    About 30-40 minutes.

There's a better price on the Philips HD9220 now - £132.26 at Amazon, if you prefer that one:

  • I'm trying to figure out whether to request one of these for my birthday. Are oven chips made from raw potatoes better-tasting made with one of these than they are when made in the oven? I see a lot of comments saying the chips are fab and a few comments saying they're a bit dry. But I just can't figure out whether they're better than or the same as those cooked in the oven!

In a word - yes. Better than made in the oven - mainly because they're being turned all the time they're cooking.

Spent ages trying to decide whether to buy one, but I now love my Actifry. Now have chips a couple of times a week, they take about 25 -30 minutes are are lovely.

Tried to cook fish goujons in there, won't make that mistake again. Ended up with chips in breadcrumbs and a few bit of fish :o

Yes they have, newer models now have vents in the back, the original ones from a few years back didnt.
I bought a Tefal actifry family for £153 yesterday,Cook and Home shop(official tefal retailer)in Livingston have them for £169.99,but visitors can get a 10% discount card from information centre, that can be used in this store, hence the price of £153,and as a Brucie Bonus they were giving away a Tefal Toast n Light toaster with every actifry sold.
Today i made a massive portion of potato wedges in 35mins,then this evening we had some chilled ready made pakora and mini samosa cooked perfect in 12mins with no extra oil.
Tomorrow im planning chips for the first time and sausages, apparantly it is fantastic at cooking sausages evenly.
Im looking forward to using it for much much more than just chips.

I use my actifry for frozen n fresh chips and Scampi mostly. I have done med veg, mince dish, chicken, veg crisps.

New potatoes chipped are lovely in the actifry.

I woz a bit worried about the actifry catching fire so don't leave it unattended for too long. Why they don't put an auto-shut off on it I don't know???

It now has take 2nd place to my George Foreman.

I bought my actifry on Friday after much deliberation, and have tried chips which were lovely. Then I did a diced potatoe/pepper/onion combo that I usually cook in the oven and it was lush.

The big thing for me is the thought of never having to have to put away a greasy, oil filled fryer again, so nice to wash it up instead.
