Hi all... well am on track - kind of. I underestimated on fuel costs as do a 35 mile trip 4 days a week... so my £20 hasn't gone far... I used to allow £80 per week... £40 fuel + £40 groceries/spends... so am going to discount fuel costs (as they are an essential to get me to work) and aim for £20 groceries/spends instead of £40 - does that seem fair? What are other people doing who have to pay fuel...? Including or excluding?
Anyhow - I have 74p left to last me Thur and Fri... food cupboards emptying slowly and eating my way through old stocks... just 3 boxes of porridge oats, 3 tins of beans and 4 packs of rice... a couple of onions and some potatoes! Yum - what can i make with that ha ha!!! Am going to buy the Sun tomorrow as it has a £6.00 Morrisons voucher in there (if you spend £40) so am going to stock up on Saturday with loads of value stuff... and see if I can use that as part of my next 2 weeks groceries.
Keep up the good work all!⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

hi everyone
I'm only nipping on quickly to update but may be back later, you've all been busy!
After some creative budgeting and working everything out, I've covered one of the packs of 10 cigs on Tuesday with money from my surplus pot, which also paid for me and a friend to have a few payday drinks last night and I stayed out, hence I didn't pop on yesterday evening!!! (sore head at work today though, however made me focus on that rather than not wanting to be there so was ok! Cleared up after an hour!)
So I'm amending Tue spend to £3.36 and adding today's spends that are from this budget. And now I must stay on track!!! We have payday pint after work on Friday I think but it's a very cheap pub and literally one drink so we'll see...
Sun 29 Jan: NSD for challenge, milk and mushrooms from food budget
Mon 30 Jan: AL, £2 towards tip, £3.40 cigs, but £5.70 refund so in credit by 30p!
Tue 31 Jan: Payday! Work 0700-2000, small/stores food shop from food budget, cigs £3.36
Planned - Wed 1 Feb: Work 9-5, Tesco 2 soups on offer (this budget not food budget as was additional spending) £3 and sandwich lady (didn't have lunch as didn't go home, d'oh!) £2.75 on a GORGEOUS Mediterannean style low fat chicken sandwich on the most gorgeous bread EVER. So £5.75 total for day.
Planned - Thu 2 Feb: Work 9-5, NSD
Planned Fri 3 Feb: Work 9-5, Starbucks £3, weeks food shop
Total so far: £8.81 / £15
