  • Hi
I've had a spendy day today. The car needed fuel (£56) - and to the poster who asked - I don't include that in my weekly spend challenge. It's an essential expense for getting to and from work, whereas I use this challenge to keep an eye on the unplanned spends I fall into.
I spent £10 on takeaway for dinner, for the second day in a row I was really too late home from work to make dinner, and as it was day 2 there were no family sized portions of leftovers. Plus £1 on dd's non uniform day and £2 for the man who cleans my wheelie bin.
So I was going to declare £13 spent, but remembered that I've made £20 this week on Monday so actually still £7 in the orange.

    Evening all

    Just a quick one.

    Sun - NSD :j
    Mon - Planned -Nails £20, car park £1.20 (£6.98 - grocery budget)
Tues - NSD for this challenge. :j Though planned hair appt - Seperate budget
Weds - Work - tea with a very good friend £3
    Thurs - Spent £3.34. :mad::mad:
    Fri - NSD - Work
    Sat - Newspaper

Extremely busy day and a falling out with a colleague at work, which resulted in me not getting any lunch so had to pop to the shops. and bought more than i needed, think this says something about my spending. However i have done a small food shop and picked up some cup a soups for work so no more ad hoc spends.

    Off to update sig.

    Good Morning :)

It all went a bit wrong yesterday and I ended up spending money on unplanned groceries. I was going to waffle my way through it and say they came out of the grocery budget but they were unplanned and not particularly essential :o And, for me, the point of this thread is to stop me spending on that kind of stuff :o

So I am here to declare that I am red this week

    Sunday - NSD :)
    Monday - NSD :)
    Tuesday - NSD :)
    Wednesday - NSD :)
    Thursday - £6.00 on non-essential groceries

    £6/£5

I knew I would slip up at some point, it was too good to be true :o

    Have a great Friday x x

  • Hi all,

Sun: £5 on Full English Breakfast (also £6 on food shopping but that came out of a seperate budget)
    Mon: NSD
Tues: NSD (Food Shopping but on a seperate budget)
Weds: £4.80 on treats to take into cinema (would have double dthat if brought in there!
Thurs: NSD - went to see Sarah Millican :) (She was brilliant!) AND my mum paid for drinks, bonus!
Fri: £70 - Brought a very gadgety (Wake-up light) Alarm Clock out of the tax rebate that I received this week. I've wanted it for ages and I am hoping it will solve my 'Morning' problem!
    Sat: NSD

I think that will put me firmly in the red again! I would have said that the alarm clock wasn't part of my budget as it is being paid for out of seperate funds but it needs to be accounted for so i'm going to suck it up and announce myself defeated!!

    Happy Friday y'all

    DFD - June 2030

I managed to pass with 44p in pocket! I thought I was going to fail as I forgot my lunch today - and although I had £10.00 in my wallet in case... and was tempted to raid the canteen at work... I resisted... grabbed a couple of biscuits (not ideal or healthy I know!) from our pot and worked my lunch break, leaving early!...

    £19.56/£20.00

Next week am not including any petrol I need... am just limiting it to groceries/spends...

Congratulations to everyone who completed... and well done to all those who tried... and didn't quite make it... am sure were you not working towards this goal... your overspending would be far worse... so any efforts are better than no efforts I figure!!! :o
