If its a genuine UK vehicle then the Ford warranty is 3 years.

(Ford confuse matters by speaking of a 1 year base warranty, which applies to any of their cars bought anywhere in the world, and then a further extended warranty. That extended warranty is 2 further years for UK customers, or 60k miles whichever occurs first.)

Is this one year warranty on trim just a Ford thing? I've had a couple of bits of trim replaced on my car at over two years old. It may depend on what is classed as 'trim', I suppose.

Vauxhall too, but that was a few years ago when I bought one new. They strictly adhered to it as well. The same couldn't be said about a piece of chrome effect plastic strip (garnish) which fell off my car at 14 months old! I don't know if they've changed that with their "for life" warranty though? Doubt it.

My old Skoda Fabia had a faulty badge replaced at 2 years old. No problem from the dealer although this is a common problem apparently.

Interesting - would that apply to daily rental too? In which case Ford are actually selling cars that technically don't have a warranty (Ford Direct used cars are nearly always ex rental)

    ;)

Also - OP - don't use automatic car washes, jet washes or your local eastern european hand car wash if you want to avoid any more of the badges being damaged.

Er, they are rarely ex-rental cars. Only the best quality cars are sold through Ford direct, and that tends to be the best of the ex-Management Roll Cars .

Either way, Ford Direct cars include the following warranties:
    • 2 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty
    • 2 Year Ford Assistance - roadside recovery
