Ringtons cold calling - new tactic

You don't have to "sign up" to anything with Ringtons, you just buy from them as and when they call. Can't see what the issue was really, they're selling teabags, biscuits etc, not ridiculously expensive double glazing. Just say no and they won't call again, no need to have an argument with anyone, or make complaints.0

How pedantic! She may have been a woman, but she was also a cold caller!0 -

So she said... cant be to sure these days... :rotfl:If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0 -
In areas where these schemes have Trading Standards and Police backing they will come out if a company knocks on your door and you have one of their official no cold calling signs visible.0

Yes, unless you know me personally or have a parcel/service I have already ordered then, yes, that sign applies to everyone. I don't want salespeople, religious callers, catalogues or survey people unless I have asked you to contact me.
If she'd done that to me I'd be sending a notice to the company that if I ever see anyone from them on my doorstep again I would call the police for trespass.0 -

Sorry but.... :rotfl:
I bet the police will rush to that call. Not."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
It's very nice tea though. :T
My friend's parents used to send me packets of it down from Newcastle when I was a poor student. RIP Den and Rene. :A0 -

The OP specifically has a sign asking salespeople not to call. Therefore she shouldn't have called, whether she's selling tea, double glazing or religious salvation.
She's not entitled to think 'That sign about cold-calling. Hmm, it doesn't apply to me. I'm *only* selling tea'. She also came out with a load of claptrap about goods versus services. I'd be cross if this happened, and I'd feel quite justified in complaining."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
