    I dont know anything about the Ms program but I'd recommend getting ESET or another free anti virus.

    I suspect you got an e-mail, this information the OP was talking about appears on the gmail page when logged in to the account and can be viewed, as other poster has said, by clicking details, he did not get an e-mail as you imply.

    The MS program - Microsoft Security Essentials is fine and compares well to other anti virus software.
    One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.

    I completely disagree with that. In fact in tests even AVG is way above it

    That said you have said 'other anti virus software' so I suppose compared to 'all' its fine. But you can do far better for free

    Fair comment. Last time I looked it was better than most but AV is like the arms race, things are changing on a daily basis and yesterdays winner might come last tomorrow.

    I think the important thing is that people have AV, so many either don't or they don't keep it up to date which is much the same thing.

    As a Mac user I have Sophos loaded.

    Oh dear, i now have the same message as before but this on is from the USA what is going on??
    I mostly use hotmail where i do get a lot of rubbish

    And now I have the joy of having my foster granddaughter becoming my real granddaughter. Can't ask for anything better

    UPDATE,
    As of today 180919. my granddaughter is now my official granddaughter, adoption finally granted

    Its not hotmail where the problem is its gmail, and its coming up as a band across the top of the message list not as a message,
