For a start last time I looked northern ireland isn't a different country, unless there has suddenly become a united ireland and no-one told ian paisley. But this isn't a political forum so best leave that discussion for somewhere else.
Companies like Dabs rip the backside out of P&P. Many use royal mail and yet still claim that it costs more to send here when I find no difference in price sending in NI or to England. Also I've used companies who use couriers and charge the same here or to england while another company uses the same courier and adds £20 to the delivery to here.
NI has such a lack of tech companies of it's own that many companies just decide to make a fast buck and know we don't have many other options.
If companies like DABS charged the same to deliver to NI as the mainland, that would mean that customers on the mainland would in effect be subsidising NI customers....I think folks in NI get enough subsidies already.
Well done DABS.....delivery costs based on difficulty of access.0 -
Boomhall, your ignorance doesn't make you correct. Northern Ireland is a different country from Eire, just as it is different from the countries of Wales, England, Italy, France, USA and Scotland to name a few. Just because four of these countries have joined to form a long standing union (UK of GB & NI)does not take away the fact that each part of the union is a country in itself.0

Does anyone know if this monitor is HDCP compliant? I know this is a (bad!) feature of Windows Vista that will downgrade digitally protected videos through the DVI connection unless the monitor is HDCP.
Is this stuff likely ever to come into force?

I ordered yesterday when it was out of stock and it had come down to £169, just checked my account and it's been shipped today. :j
wonder if all those that ordered when they were in stock then cancelled and then reoredered at the cheaper price moved down the queue so I got 'their' monitor?0 -
Just got an email saying the product is now discontinued :mad:0

When I noticed the price had dropped £20 from this thread i scuttled straight back to the site to cancel and reorder (as you do
) but it'd already been shipped! Slightly miffed, it's not worth the hassle to refuse delivery and order another now as i'd not have postage refunded, but am still pleased with the original deal especially as i used pigsback too
Even cheaper would've been nice, but what can you do eh?:rotfl:0 -
I've been cancelled. Darn it!Marillion - A Better Way of Life.0
