Because it is an emotive subject for me, payday loans have had a huge part in destroying my families life. It really makes me angry when I see people who clearly have never been in certain situations make judgements and give comments that are just degrading. If you do not understand the situation then fine, I don't expect you to if you have never been there but please show people a little respect. I keep saying this but people end up in payday loan situations because they are desperate, no sane person pays that amount of interest if they can avoid it, so please lay off people who get themselves into trouble. They need proffesional help and good moral support, not be made to feel rediculous.
Thats why I shake with rage and I really do.0 -
How hard do you shake with rage? Is it more of a tremble or is a violent rage? I mean on a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you shake with rage? Do you shake with anything else?
Keen to get to the bottom of this.0 -

Then you need to get some perspective. It's only a forum, and surely you don't expect everyone to agree with you?0 -
There are a couple of strands to the whole Pay Day Loan thing. Far too many people are abdicating responsibility for their loans and are making unjust and unfair accusations against the companies.
I don't believe that there is ever a situation where getting a pay day loan means the difference between life and death. Never. People want one, they want to avoid bank unauthorised charges due to poor money management, they want to go out and get drunk, pay an unexpected bill, whatever, but they do not NEED it to prevent death.
Secondly, pay day loan companies are up front about their APR and their charges. Therefore, if a person feels the need to get such a loan then they should make sure they understand the charges. They should also understand the consequences of failing to repay the loan where THEY said they would.
I have had a pay day loan that worked a treat for me. Then lent me the money I wanted for a short period of time. They told me what it would cost me. I was sensible enough to pay them back when I said I would. If a person is so stupid and reckless that they gamble with their families food money then really one should question whether they should even have a bank account.
At no point did I say I expected the OP to leave his money where it could be taken away from him (to pay a debt that he owes, that he took out of his own free will that he has now reneged on - but that is apparently by the by eh?). I was merely questioning whether he had savings or not - if he does, then why on earth get a pay day loan??
Finally, if my earlier post made you 'shake with rage' I would imagine this one would have caused your head to explode. If it hasn't please put me on ignore for your own safety.
Well after surcombing to years of battling debt and eventually one month my money runs out 6 days in to a 31 day month, because of overdraft removals ect and having no other avenues to obtain money for just the basics, then my family was left with 3 choices.
1) Starvation eventually leading to DEATH, and loss of job due to no travel money
2) Turning to crime to raise money
3) Taking out a payday slippery slope loan.0 -

I don't expect anybody to agree with me, what I do expect is some respect for fellow human beings. Get a ticket to the Jeremy Kyle show if you want to sit and riddicule people about their situation. As for Andy your not even worth the rise.0 -

Again, lots of ridiculous exaggeration. The beauty of our country is that those most in need have access to a welfare benefit system. It is not perfect, but I am not aware of any families that have starved to death rather than taking out a payday loan.0 -

Have you been in the situation? Clearly no.
When we run out of money, we approached the welfare fund for help, they refused help because they said I had a decent wage, that was the end of it. I appealed and they still said no.
Children die of starvation in this country, so do adults. It just goes to show what your version of reality looks like. Rose tinted.0 -

No, YOU destroyed your families life - not the PDL companies. YOU made the choice to take out the loans. Take some responsibility.0 -

Go on then as you are so sure please give me a breakdown of what I did to destroy my families life, as you seem to know so much about me. I'd expect somebody who is qualified to make a sweeping statement like that will give a very good account of what happened.0
