The 10-year note was recently yielding 8.98%, well beyond the 7% threshold which many analysts believe is unsustainable.

GGGB10YR appears to have spiked in the past few days. Was 6.70% three days ago. Now showing at 8.96% as of noon today. That's some shift.

My post from 2.1/2 years ago:
Ah, good! Well, that's Greece done & dusted for a bit, until it all blows up again, when it will become patently bloody obvious that they were never going to pay their way, not in a million years!

The problem is that austerity is never popular, particularly the level of austerity needed to dig your way out of the debt mountain the Greeks have amassed. Some people seem to be worried that there might have to be an election soon, Syriza are ahead in the polls, and they apparently want to default and only pay 50c on the Euro.
