Re-selling on E-bay - utter cheek!!

I am still struggling to why the OP feels that buyers are being ripped off.
I make most of my money buying from retailers whether they are online, high street or ebay and then just marking them up and selling on EBay or Amazon for a profit. All of my customers could search themselves and buy the same items at the price I paid.
Unless i have something that will sell in quantity I set myself a minimum mark up of 35%.
Must make mental note to stop ripping my customers off!!
Radjo you are taking a very high moral stance here when, as others have said you really should be turning the negative into a positive and either selling on EBay yourselves or giving the guy a job (maybe marketing director?).0 -
RadoJo wrote:Thanks for everyone's contributions, but a lot of you are repeating each other and the question I asked has already been answered. I appreciate that I posed the question on a public forum, but to be called a hypocrite and accused of sour grapes seems unecesary and has not added to the debate, just made me wonder why some of you felt the need to post if you were not interested in answering the question I asked.
Thanks to everyone who offered practical advice - I think I have officially thanked you all too - and to those who have tried to make me feel bad for trying to protect our customers and do my job, good luck in your future ventures.
You need to grow up, go to collegue and learn about business.
By the way, ebay charges fees for listing, etc. it is not free, then this seller is using his/her time to put your items for sale and investing money to buy from your Co. Everyone that use their own time to try and make a living is worth to applaude.
I am sure you do not want to go to work for free so your company can lower prices to your loyalty customers..right?
This seller found a niche market your CO. has not been able to find.
And if your CO start doing Business in Ebay, you are copying his/her idea and that will be too inmoral then????
Perhaps you don't have the need to go and find money anywhere to maintain your family, this seller may be, who knows...probably cannot work because needs to stay at home to look after children like many of other ebayers and most of all is doing nothing illegal, but to copy from your web page some pictures.0 -
An item is worth what the customer will pay. You have to remember that there are rich people out there and poor people, some people have that much money they don't care about paying a high price. Its worth it to them so they are happy and the seller will be happy as it keeps his business going.
Alot of people are obsessed with undercutting other people so keep their prices low and when they realise they are losing money and the business goes under then they have only got themselves to blame.
Cheapest is not always best if it costs the company to go under, once the customers come back for more in a year or 2 its no good to them if the're no longer in business.
One example is Amazon, they are not often the cheapest but their overall standard of service is worth paying more for, you know Amazon will be still in business in 3 years time.0 -
I think the term is called Drop Shipping. There are people doing it from play.com, amazon, CDWow and all kinds of companies. You must be very honoured.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

Yea it is drop shipping, these companies don't mind a sale is a sale to them!
But its crazy, why would you want to send to your customers invoices of what you paid to play/amazon.0 -

Im amazed at how personal people are being on this thread, telling the OP to grow up !!???
They have voiced an opinion towards what the ebay seller is doing but that was not the point of posting here, they wanted advice about what can be done about it, not lectures on how they have every right to do it.
The op is a newbie and has been flamed , even if what they were saying was non-sense they still had the right to be treated with a bit more respect than they have been shown.
