We managed to stick to our mealplan ALL week! I am so pleased :D

It was all down to batch cooking at the weekend and eating lots of leftovers... this week will be slightly harder because I am not batch cooking until evenings (when Eliza is most active), DH can make cottage pie if it comes to it! And pizza base can be made during the day and toppings put on and made ready hours before cooking, so just Monday to worry about :D

Wish me luck!

So this week is as follows:

Fri - Eating at a Friends house (MrT Curry)
Sat - Roast Chicken :silenced: Pesto Pasta
Sun - Eating at another Friends house (Beef Stew)
Mon - Nutty Chicken Curry
Tue - Cottage Pie
Wed - LO Nutty Chicken Curry
Thur - Cottage Pie Toasties
Fri - Cheese and Onion Pizza

I hope everyone has a great week x

  • Another week already! Nearly into February and I'm still mealplanning strong. Here goes:

Monday - Toad in the Hole
Tuesday - Chicken Tikka Rolls with Salad
    Wednesday - Not sure yet
Thursday - Jacket Potatoes with Melee Beans
    Friday - Pasta All'Amatriciana
    Saturday - Moussaka
    Sunday - Roast Chicken Dinner

I'll probably make another batch of breakfast bars in the week to snack on - they really fill the gap. I do fancy having a cake in the tin - perhaps a nice fruit slice or something. I do have two jars of mincemeat in the cupboard from Christmas to use up. :) Have a lovely week, everyone.

    Hi guys

I hope you don't mind a gate crasher!

Here's mine (I meal plan based on Saturday as Day 1 and I only have to feed me so I have a lot of repetition!!!)

    Saturday 28th:
    Lunch -
    Minestrone Soup
Dinner - Freezer Meal (black bean chilli with some rice)
    Sunday 29th:
    Lunch - Minestrone Soup
Dinner - Freezer Meal (Vegetable Chilli Bowl and a Roll or Rice)
    Monday
    30th:
    Lunch -
Out (Dad's Birthday @ ZaZa Bazaar)Dinner - Minestrone Soup and Roll
    Tuesday 31st:
    Lunch - Minestrone Soup
Dinner - Freezer Meal (Lentil Ragu and Spaghetti)
    Wednesday 1st:
    Lunch - Minestrone Soup
Dinner - Roasted Vegetable Cous Cous
    Thursday 2nd:
    Lunch -
    Minestrone Soup
Dinner - Roasted Vegetable Cous Cous
    Friday 3rd:
    Lunch -
    Honeyed Carrot Soup
Dinner - Roasted Vegetable Cous Cous

Minestrone Soup is easy home made cheapy recipe, and I'm making the rolls from a wholemeal crusty bread mix I got from Mr T for 63p (or so) which will make 10 rolls - I thought this was good value and worth a try!)

Hope this was ok for my first time contributing!!!

  • Hi everyone-menus are all looking good.
We have been pretty good this week, although there have been a couple of subs, we haven't had to go out and buy dinner, or heaven forbid get a takeaway (so we are on course for meeting our target of 1 takeaway only in January... Lunches out don't count do they? :p:rotfl:) Have also been very good, and only had 2 nights with alcohol all of January so far (and those have been nights out with friends) whereas usually OH and I share at least a bottle of wine a night  No idea why I haven't lost about 2 stone though :( must be all the tasty food :D:cool:

We are trying to eat from the freezer, and get a veg box every fortnight so everything on this we should have in stock, bar the veg to go with the noodles and some potatoes and possibly mushrooms if I don't get them from the box.

Going to bake the baps for monday from a recipe in home cooking made easy, I watched the fabulous baker boys the other night and am craving pulled pork, but it's a traditional loin roast on sunday, so reckon we can have yummy pork sandwiches, maybe bubble and squeak rather than salad and fried spuds

Sun 29 Roast loin of pork, cider gravy, roast spuds, carrots and celeriac, cauliflower cheese, purple sprouting brocolli
Mon 30 pork baps with salad and fried spuds
Tue 31 ginger pork soy noodles
Wed 1 ravioil con porcetta, mushroom sauce
    Thu 2 swede speltotto
Fri 3 baked trout with leeks, carrots and peas, saute potatoes
Sat 4 porcini rubbed lamb chops with healthy dauphinoise potatoes and kale
Sun 5 italian pepper beef brisket, roast potatoes, kale
