Are there any express specific bargains/glitches on the go? I came across 2 strips of Llindt balls late last night still going thru at 1p ... I want to snaffle them but would like something else in my basket when I do :D

If you dont go back for them, they will be gone! Put a box of porridge or cereal over the eggs and pull them out one at a time - I went into an express on the night of the cadbury's mini eggs. I had been driving round looking for them, then came across 3 complete strips - cleared the lot through SS till - I had 37 in total, then just left the cereal box in the basket! Dont think anyone even noticed. Fortunately it's not somewhere I go often.

There are some different Rustlers half-price this week, and I know they are probably not the best nutrition for the kids, but during half-term we get a fair few unexpected visitors around our table (or not hanging round long enough to actually sit down) and these are quick and easy (1 1/2 mins in microwave). The chicken subs are particularly popular. As mentioned earlier, if you like their FB page and enter the comp, they will e-mail a pdf coupon for bogof which you can use as many times as you like till 31 March - so 50p a pop.

Also the pre bogof price will count towards the £40 spend for the £5 off voucher and I am pretty sure Asda don't sell these if you are doing a comparison shop.

    :(:(:(:(

will you forgive me if I moan for one last time? :o

went to the 'dentist' if that's what he calls himself  he was probably younger then me and more scared then I was! paid 17 quid just for him to tell me what I already knew: I have an infection! anyway got a prescription for a different antibiotics(him and the pharmacist both confirmed the ones I got off the GP are rubbish and very mild! I'm off to see if I can complain or leave a review about the rubbish walk-in clinic and GP in Southall!) but I left there not knowing if I should take them instead or together or after I finished the ones I'm taking! had to ask the very nice pharmacist who also gave me some stronger ibuprofen to add to my collection... also he said I'm not able to have a canal root job off the NHS and can only have the tooth taken out when the infection is gone...
I'm not going back to him!

So I'm back to square 1 :( Think I'm gonna have meals of yoghurt, antibiotics and painkillers for another week and try and go back to work tomorrow as I feel really bad about taking time off... :( Loosing a few more kg won't hurt me anyway

    rant over :o

PS. Nikki I might take you up on the offer to pass the details of your dentist if she does NHS and weekends/late evenings :o I can't experiment with them any more... :(

Hia, google NHS dentistry charges (sorry dont know how to do the links) and see what is covered:

    Band 2 course of treatment – £47.00
This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or if your dentist needs to take out one or more of your teeth.

My understanding of this is that if you have a crown and it has had a root canal, it's such a big job to try and redo it, it's probably better to have it out. If, like me, you had an abscess in the front tooth, which had not had a root canal, i got this done on the NHS under band 2 treatment (this was 12 months ago).

I know you have had loads of painkillers, but have you tried cocodamol? I find this best for the tooth pain (and believe me I have had some toothpain). Also what antibiotic have you got? Did they do an x-ray for you and suggest that the tooth could be saved?

It totally peedles me off that you have to pay £17 to be told what you already know, at one time this was offset against the second stage visit (£17 off the £47), but now it is in addition to.

    Hi,
Quick warning if you're thinking of buying a 9" plush Yoda (and possibly other) Star Wars character from Tesco Direct - it only speaks ONE phrase. It is the same character, same packaging and same description you will see elsewhere for around £15. From the description on Tesco Direct, there is no way of knowing this character speaks only one phrase. We could see from other descriptions online that he has six.

    The Tesco Direct description states:

Lots of different sounds means one phrase that can be repeated, not the six advertised elsewhere. We returned the first one we were sent as we though it was a fault. The second arrived and it was the same. We called up Tesco Direct and, this time, the operator knew about this problem and suggested if we were sent a third it would be the same. She stated that the description on the website was incorrect and needed to be changed. All in all, they know it has only one phrase, and that the description is incorrect. A couple of weeks have past and the same description appears on their website. I'm sure others will buy this item after researching and finding Tesco Direct to be the cheapest - however, they do not state how many phrases he has.

In my mind this suggests that they know people will come to this conclusion and mistake their version with the full version available elsewhere. Maybe they bought stock that could only say this one phrase and are selling it off in a not completely honest way.

I wanted to share this somewhere as I couldn't find a way of leaving comments on their site and I'm angry that they are continuing to describe the product incorrectly even though they are well aware there is a major difference between it and ones that are sold elsewhere. Just don't want them to get away with it - it is not the same product. It is cheaper for a reason.

Welcome to the crazy gang. I would email tesco and complain about that :D
  • Well felt that was a great day out at Mr T's. Managed to get 8 boxes of 1p Temptations through a SS till, had DH stand off to one side with the rest of my shopping!!! Thanks to OP, can you believe the SEL on the Temptations said £8.00 no one in their right mind would pay that, but felt good to get at 8p for 8 instead.

Got two Nivea moisturisers from the voucher code in the Nivea crackers so pleased with those, then used the 50p voucher off the Dettol surface spray so they were only 50p each, so again thanks to the OP for those too. I can't tell you how much I enjoy my shopping trips now that I read all your wonderful threads before I set out!

Now whoopsie chicken stuffed with brie (christmas half price box, cranberry Ocean Spray last years 1p bargain mixed with onion and rosemary, wrapped in bacon (before christmas bargain from MSE advice) cooking merrily in the oven, peeled veggies with my 1p lime green veggie pealer and popped into the oven with my heavily reduced oven gloves.

Wombled a £48 receipt, so that's in for price check LOL

    YOU LOT ARE SUPERB! THANKS:j:j:j

PS Happy your pics are amazing, you are very well travelled!

TBH - I agree - I think £24.50 is a great price for denby anyway - my house is full of it and 2 cups are nearly that price ! I 've a few weddings this year and it could save me a right wee bit !
    SOLD - i'll update you's all !

I don't think this is proper Denby though, I think it's made to a price for Tesco to have loads of a Xmas. We've got most of a black pepper set and it'll be the emergency plates rather than anything I'd get out of the cupboard on a day to day basis....
