Daisy if it was me I would go and buy it and see, if it comes up at £24.50 at the till you can say you forgot your purse!;)

If it comes up as either £48 or £85 then you are quids in, pay and claim your DTD! It's too good a chance to miss, I'm sure the Black Pepper was the one being overcharged before?

TBH - I agree - I think £24.50 is a great price for denby anyway - my house is full of it and 2 cups are nearly that price ! I 've a few weddings this year and it could save me a right wee bit !
    SOLD - i'll update you's all !

  • Hi all,

I am a newbie coming out of the shadows to say hello! I have been reading (lurking) this thread for a couple of weeks because I wanted to get the hang of things before posting - it took me ages to figure out what 'wombling' was!! I know I've still got lots to learn about good old Mr T's so forgive any silly/obvious questions I ask!

I am slightly worried because I already seem to be becoming a bit addicted to this thread and I am sooo amazed at some of your finds! Today I have had my first success.....a really shabby tatty old bag of the 1p Andrex woo!! :j When I told my OH he was a bit confused as to why I was so excited about it.....:o

Anyway I am looking forward to becoming even more obsessed with this thread...oh dear!!
other halfs dont "get it" unless booze is involved :rotfl::rotfl:
life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.
  • oh yes of course I will share anything I think is a new find although I have not been lucky as yet - I have been taking random items to the price scanner in the hope that they are the wrong price and then let out a big deflated sigh when they all scan at the right price and I go and put them all back!! I've begun to get worried in case a SA or security guard spy me and know what I am up to!! Is this the right way to find glitches or will it just be those with an OOD SEL?

I had to laugh when I was checking some items the other day - there were a couple of bags of Lindt eggs abandoned on top of the scanner - so I think maybe another MSEer had got there before me!!
its not the eggs you want its the balls.

  • Hi,
Quick warning if you're thinking of buying a 9" plush Yoda (and possibly other) Star Wars character from Tesco Direct - it only speaks ONE phrase. It is the same character, same packaging and same description you will see elsewhere for around £15. From the description on Tesco Direct, there is no way of knowing this character speaks only one phrase. We could see from other descriptions online that he has six.

    The Tesco Direct description states:
Press the button and yoda will even speak to you, with lots of different sounds from the hit film and TV shows!

Lots of different sounds means one phrase that can be repeated, not the six advertised elsewhere. We returned the first one we were sent as we though it was a fault. The second arrived and it was the same. We called up Tesco Direct and, this time, the operator knew about this problem and suggested if we were sent a third it would be the same. She stated that the description on the website was incorrect and needed to be changed. All in all, they know it has only one phrase, and that the description is incorrect. A couple of weeks have past and the same description appears on their website. I'm sure others will buy this item after researching and finding Tesco Direct to be the cheapest - however, they do not state how many phrases he has.

In my mind this suggests that they know people will come to this conclusion and mistake their version with the full version available elsewhere. Maybe they bought stock that could only say this one phrase and are selling it off in a not completely honest way.

I wanted to share this somewhere as I couldn't find a way of leaving comments on their site and I'm angry that they are continuing to describe the product incorrectly even though they are well aware there is a major difference between it and ones that are sold elsewhere. Just don't want them to get away with it - it is not the same product. It is cheaper for a reason.
