  • looking a bit of advice re bikes.
Looking for a bike which would hold me, am overweight  but determined to get out and about with DS for some us time away from extended family we're forced to live with at the moment due to housing executive taking their sweet time getting us somewhere to live. Sorry for mini rant.
    Back to the bike issue
Have been looking at the ones on Mr T's site thanks to MSEr who posted the cheap bike on this thread
    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-4217.aspx
Have looked at this one and was wondering if anyone would know what weight it would hold up to as I can't find the details on that page.
Also I haven't rode a bike for about 15 - 20 yrs so not sure what ones on there would be best. Have decided that will practise in the alley behind my mum's house :rotfl: before embarassing DS at the park but know it'll take time for me to be at his speed but also think it's what he needs at the moment because the situation at home is driving both of us crazy
    TIA

Bikes can pretty much hold any weight (hope that don't sound bad:o), so if you can get on it and ride, you'll be fine, go for it!!:)

Back....was inspired by Cupcake Wars so I did get my pinny and chefs hat on and this is what I made. Hope you like them :)

    IMGP8746Small.jpg

Made with our own fresh hen's eggs and homemade butter :D

Chocolate and nut cupcake filled with peanut butter and topped with peanut butter and chocolate buttercream frosting.

Vanilla sponge topped with strawberry jam and buttercream frosting.

Vanilla sponge with strawberries, blueberries and oats topped with brown sugar then vanilla & choc buttercream and a strawberry & blueberry garnish, dusted with icing sugar.

Malted cupcake (made with horlicks ;) ) topped with malted buttercream frosting.

Lemon cupcake made with fresh lemon juice topped with vanilla buttercream frosting and lemon zest.

And finally rocky road cupcake; chocolate sponge with marshmallow, broken biscuit pieces and chocolate chunks, topped with chocolate buttercream frosting, a melted marshmallow centre and a broken biscuit piece.

    :D

Omg how could you post that... My mouth is watering just looking.

it flashed up a message at the end of my shop about unauthorised item for £1.34 but the sa quickly scanned his card and pressed some buttons so it dissapeared.

got some of the 4 for £1 tinned toms so thank you again op for that.

It must be local or expired then.

I bought both of those this morning - with the correct barcodes - and was charged £6 for each. :(

whhoooo...which Butlins you doing? We did the 80s last Feb and it was great fun.....we're doing the 90s weekend in March and another 80s in May.....all in fancy dress!!! :rotfl:

Well done for the fancy dress, haven't quite worked up to that as always seem to go as just 2 or 4 of us. Hoping to get a big group together for my birthday in June and then going to get everyone to dress up
Just love the effort loads of people put into their 'theme'

It's a 90's weekend, which I've done before, also did the 80's last year and I think I prefer that one.

Hope you have a great time! What am I talking about... of course you'll have a great time!!! Have yet to meet anyone who hasn't liked it once they've tried it :D  :D

Morning everyone. Can anyone remember what the b/c was for the Sarah Smith wipes?I saw some in a T's on wed and didn't really think to check them but it's my mums local so can get her to check. Is it worth it or have the prices changed?:o

  • My ex-dh was a keen cyclist. He had a... thing in the garage (sorry, no idea what it was called) that he could pop one of the wheels of his road bike into to stop it moving so he could use it as an exercise bike when the weather was bad.

Don't know how much it cost (but he was quite tight with money generally) but it might be a good idea for those that have an outdoor bike anyway.

If I'd been a bit more savvy in those days I could have wired him up to the mains to harness his pedal power!
