    Morning all
Hugs to mrs 3dogs have a safe journey

Fascinated about the mystery shopper mahruz was that you?
My sis is looking for work this might be right up her street, any advice on how to get into it and how good the income is

Might brave a trip to T's today, can't stand the thought of a £5 off £40 voucher going to waste! Even though I'm sure I'll struggle to spend it

If not caught up yet so this may have been answered already.

This thread has some great information on it, I don't post on it anymore but ask her to read the first few pages, then its just a matter of jumping in

The main thing that puts people off is needing to register as self employed and do a tax return but its not that bad. (as long as you keep your books up to date of course :()

I used to own a travel agency.

It was quite heart breaking sitting there day after day giving people the benefit of our knowledge and experience - sometimes wasting many hours of our precious time trying to help put together fantastic holiday plans for ungrateful people who came in to "squeeze as much info" as they could from us before booking elsewhere.

It felt like people valued our knowledge enough to come in and ask for our help and advice but not enough to pay for it. Not sure how they thought we paid for premises, salaries etc.

I quite understand if you think a travel agent is a waste of time and you can do it all yourself - good for you, go for it. But it really gets my back up when people think it is OK use the information available in an agency but not support it financially. Next year when you want to pick their brains they won't be there - they will have gone bust.

The problem is there aren't the local friendly knowledgable travel agencies around anymore that you can trust, that I used to use.

I did go to the large holiday superstore Nikki will know which one I mean) & if they could have done the job for a good price I may have been tempted to use them this time.

I walked into this barn of a place and was asked what I wanted. "xxxxx will be available in a minute he's an expert in what you want."

No he wasn't, first we tried with the package company they were affliated to I had a few basic questions he couldn't answer. He did a quote & a brief print out & I asked "can you see if booking it all seperately works out cheaper", he did & was amazed it was £1000 cheaper than their own package & a couple of the roving staff came over to congratulate him.

Despite being told he was an expert from some of the answers I was getting back I knew he wasn't & when pressed he had never been to America !! let alone Florida

When I got home looking at his two printouts I found three glaring mistakes including one wrong date now how could I even think of booking with them with any confidence. Yes he did spend a long time but had he known what he was doing he needn't have.
