Sorry, don't want to cause you any pain mentioning it again but I feel I should post one last bit. I've been to Orlando at least 5 times as an adult and not once have I hired a car or regretted not doing so. Airport to hotel transfers have been great. Pretty much all malls can be reached by either iRide or Lynx buses but I have had to resort to a taxi when the shopping got beyond sensible for taking on the bus. The parks were all done by bus though again, leaving late from Universal I've gotten a taxi.
Don't be put off by not having a car. I admit that during peak season (and even before) it can be hard finding spaces on the iRide Trolley but it meant I could have a drink, even if it was just a shandy, and not worry about going over the limit especially with the heat and humidty making alcohol hit harder.
If you want any more info let me know as I've stayed in quite a few different hotels, as have my folks so we have some knowledge of iDrive, Kissimmee and Lake Buena Vista.
Oh caz don't appologise at all, thank you very much for postingI absolutely adore the place! I just wish I had better memories, that's all. As I said I would love to go back and re-do a lot of things
THANK YOU so much that's fantastic info and very encouraging. I think for myself personally I would love to have a go at driving but atleast I know now that if that failed there are ways around it!We stayed in a villa in Davenport like QPR is doing and it was lovely but probably one of the reasons I felt it was essential to drive. Fab to know there's other options though :T:T:T

Stir in some corn flour if you have it to thicken sauce
on shopping list:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
If you have no chickenor cornflour, what I do is take some of the veg and liquid out and blend together and return to pot which helps to thicken.
thank you the sound of reason

TOTES jealous of all the people who've been to Orlando, I've never been further than Casablanca (HORRIBLE place!!)I can see what you mean about health insurance, a lot of insurance companies you can opt out of water sports etc which could bring the cost down.
My other option was going to be 4 nights at a Warner Leisure Hotel with a friend who is like a second Mum or even a holiday camp but I really needed to get away now.
I go to Haven, I love them!HappyChappy84 wrote: »iPhone, you won't go wrong with it. The 3GS doesn't have as nice a screen as the 4 and 4S but for that price it's good. It will take a bit of getting used too if you're used to BB's but once you get the hang of it you will wonder why you ever used BB's.
The last guy I was seeing had a BB and I tried to use one day and I found it truly awful.
I loved my BB when I got it, tbh I only got it because the BB tariffs on O2 were the cheapest for what you got, counting down the months now till my contract ends and I can get a better phone, this one does my head in! Mind you I might not notice once I get the iPad I DON'T NEED!!! :rotfl:No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Hi make a beurre manie
Mix equal parts butter and flour to a paste, then stir in a bit at a time until you have the consistency you want, does the same job as cornflour :TI, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Very true QPR10, if either of us felt confident about driving over there, I would definitely look into it more, even with the cost of the health insurance. Neither of us have driven abroad and we definitely wouldn't want to drive an automatic! eeek! That's great about the blue badge though, thank you, if we do end up going in the future, that's extremely useful info :T
Driving an automatic is so easy you just steer, just don't get too distracted looking out of the window with power steering its just a touch & lack of concentration & you'll be up a tree !
I always had a manual car at home & the first time I went to America we rented a car & when we looked at it we went back to the desk and said "Don't you have any manuals?" They thought we meant instruction books :rotfl:Anyway I fell in love with automatic cars never thinking I would have one but now I can't really use the clutch I have my automatic motorbility car here.
Of all the places I've been to in America & I know a lot of places like the back of my hand, Florida is by far the easiest to drive in, basically there is a freeway which goes to Disney & beyond, International Drive- one straight road & hwy 192 another very long straight road with everything along there, easy to manoever, pull in & park.
I just had to e-mail a copy of my blue badge a copy of my passport & driving licence. They sent me an e-mail back with a phone number to ring as they don't take credit card numbers in e-mails & a week later it arrived. Ringing America was 2p per minute using 18866.co.uk first cheaper than ringing my nephew on his mobile!0 -
I have the Iphone 4 on a cashback deal. Well, I got the cashback deal on a Samsung phone that DS threw into a bowl of water! Went back to using my old phone for a while until DH bought me the Iphone from e-bay. I phoned Orange and asked them to send me out a micro sim which they did, no questions asked. I still have the same contract and am still getting all my money back
Re Orlando - Amazing holiday!!! We are counting down the years till we can go back. We are waiting until LO's are quite a few years older so they can appreciate it a bit more. Only another 6-7 years to goA bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist0 -

I can highly recommend Canada, particularly the drive between Calgary (being greeted off the plane by a cow girl dressed in all the gear was something else) and Vancouver. Sis and I went off the main highway and sauntered along at 40mph taking in the views, stopping occasionally [STRIKE]to take pics[/STRIKE] to let the smell out the car from my sisters farts.:o
Out of all the places I've been there aren't many places I'd like to go back too but if I could I'd be on the next flight to Canada.
Been to Amish in Pennsylvania the name of the place escapes me it was a long time ago. Also driven between Montana & Calgary & Edmonton & L.A. & Vegas0 -
Just caught up in time to say goodnight.
I signed up earlier tonight for the free Netflix trial through TCB and have watched The Royle Family "Queen of Sheba" I'd forgotten how funny and sad that was...I've howled with laughter...and just howled!!
Night night all

hi fudge really do not be afraid of driving over there i have driven twice over there now and belive me it is better driving over there than here. The roads are much wider the traffic flows better, i was really afraid of driving the first time i had never drove an automatic or driven in the states before drove the car around the carpark a bit first to get used to it before we set off for the villa. Also got a sat nav and had never used one of those before, it was brill but the roads are really well signed anyway i would say go for it i loved driving over there and i dont really like driving over here.
I agree with every word except I don't get on with sat navs I find them too distracting0
