His superdrive is dodgy too. Other symptoms are incorrect display of battery life remaining, random shut down etc. My fan is ok, I have got the free widget iStatpro which is great for quick access info, rather than going through System Profiler.
Mine is mid 2009 so *touches wood* it will be ok.
I never hear the fan in mine, even when I'm copying the DVD's from Lovefilm.:o
I had the incorrect battery life display issue too but it seemed to clear itself after a while. Now and again it resurfaces but it soon clears itself.0 -
Right it depends how good an actress you are
...
... next time you're in you could always seek out and "thank" the SA at the till and say that ... cos you were buying it as a present you were expecting to pay about £80 but as you were walking away (and because she brought it to your attention) you kind of thought you saw a SEL for £56 so you went to double check and would you believe it "you did see a SEL for that price" and so got DTD.
In a family with a love of amateur dramatics I am defo the most pants actress of them all lol! I think my problem is just that I'm too honest and hate the idea that someone might be saying something nasty behind my back! Really need to get over that and look out for No 1 more! Thanks for the advice tho, might still give it a go if I see her and she recognises me0 -
Does anyone know if you can return something from a home delivery grocery order back into store?0

I found this thread a couple of days ago and am happy to say I have now registered! The reason I was looking for a T thread was because I had an experience in T's P3t3rs F13l), which I wanted to find info about - anyway the MSE search lead me here - perfect
From back-reading (exhausted!!) I now know I was 'trouted'!! I saw the Penguins on offer (and I know this has been on here) and I also saw that there were 9 packs with 100% free = good deal. Picked up enough for the whole school, including one pack of 9 with none free (accidentally). I used the unmanned till and was confused with the prices as the 9+100%free were a different price, despite the price on the shelf saying reduced to £1. The staff member said it was right, so I took them back to my car and looked at the receipt again and knew it wasn't. I went back in and bought two more packs to double check the price was wrong (honestly - totally innocently). Obviously it was, so I went to CS and the woman was quite unpleasant. When she saw the on the shelf, she tried to tell me that they were the neighbouring pack - which was a pack of 27 for £2. Man - she was annoyed I could read the label!:D Anyway, she then said the 9+100% free were different to the 9 pack! I was honestly soooo confused. She said the 9+9free packs were elsewhere in the store so I asked her to show me and tell me the price. She was so obviously not quite telling the truth! Anyway, eventually she said she would refund me the difference as they were in the wrong place and that wasn't my fault. I had been standing at the counter for a long time and by now had read the blue sign and learned the DTD rule! Yippee me though - £6 back, but she offered £3, so I had another long discussion with her. She seemed to think that 9+100% free should be more expensive than a regular 9 pack! Eventually I shut up and said whatever as the queue was building up, so I was surprised that she gave me a £6 refund on my debit card.:) BUT she made me fill in a form with my name and address as if I had returned an item - just wondered if that was normal, and what she would do with my details? (She has my card details and clubcard too). Thank you to all of you who have set this up - it has been a real help to me. Hope to 'talk' again to you soon, and wish you all a safe day in these icey conditions. Mrs J
