Well I'd just got to bed at 2 am when the nurse from the ward rang to say Mr 3Dogs was back on the ward. They had removed his appendix but had to cut him open to do it, not keyhole. But he was ok
He text me this morning at 6.18 am to say "Cup of tea and two chocolate digestives - heaven" and then at 7 am he had cereal, sausage sandwich and a yoghurt. He is tender but ok, so I am off over there now. With it being open rather than keyhole, he won't be out today, but should be home tomorrow :j
I am off over there now so will let you know later how things are - thanks for all the messages :A
Mine was an open one, and i have a 3 inch scar with 2 little bobbles either side where the stitches went- it was muchly amusing to freak people out by gently pulling the little balls from one side to the other! Glad all went well, and hope he has a speedy recoveryMy boots arrived from Jane Norman this affy thanks to queen of cheap but i wasn't in. Time on card was 10 mins after i got in   . It's considerably warmer than here, I usually get to sit in the sun sleeveless at some point each day. And we've had the beautiful Sao Rafael beach pictured above to ourselves for an hour before now = you won't get that in the summer.
The Algarve reckons on 300 days of sun each year, and the rain falls predominantly in December/ January. We've been every February for the last few years. 2010 was the worst February in 18 years, the people who go every year reckoned, and even then you'd just get a five minute shower passing overhead and then you could get on with what you were doing. The evenings chill off and you can't sit out, but you just make sure your accommodation has aircon so you can warm it up a bit. The restaurants etc that shut for a couple of months usually start reopening early February, prior to our UK half term. In February 2011 we had up to 25 degrees during the day - very pleasant without being too hot. Yes, it's not going to be as hot or quite as consistent as eg the Canaries - but then they're a four and a half hour flight, as opposed to less than two and a half, and considerably more expensive. For a top up at the end of winter, we love it. We're having 9 nights including 4/5 star accommodation, flights, car hire and airport parking for just over £300.
It's also hilarious - the locals are all clad in coats and boots, and all the Brits/ Germans/ Dutch etc are all in shorts and summer skirts!
It looks positively wonderful Lutzi1, think I might have to look in to that for next year! Any idea when flights get released for next Feb?Tinyshoes just texted me this to add to the above
Twinings ground coffee £1.89 and BOGOF (apparently it was £3 odd a couple of weeks ago) and Nescafe gold blend £8 ish which is about half price.
Found quite a lot of reduced SEL's on the tea, coffee & hot choc section. Most of it had gone but I got some Tesco fairtrade teabags x 80 for 91p, I normally like to work on the penny a bag theory but it's getting harder these days so 91p for 80 isn't so bad. Also got a cup of readymade Galaxy hot choc with marshmallows for 50p, no idea what they should normally be each but SEL said 50p or 2 for £1.50:rotfl:They also have a lot of the ambi pur things RTC, but I dont have any sense of smell so soz but I didnt look too hard at them:o0 -

On my last trip to MrT my DD managed to reduce my JTD to 1/3rd of what I had expected by adding things to my trolley, so I have worked out a shop to get max JTD to start again as I am taking advantage of the £5.00 till MOC.
5x Branston Beans @ £2.55 / 1.00
5x Cathederal City Extra Mature @ £4.38 / 2.00
1x Activia Yogurt @ 2.19 / 1.00
1x Loose Orange @ 0.30 / 0.27
2x Comfort Pure @ 1.50 / 1.80
Total spend 40.14
Less 5.00 Moc till
Less 3.47 JTD
Less 1.50 MOC Comfort
CASH PAID 30.17
Should get back:
JTD 20.00
MOC 5.00

You think that’s bad!! One of my stores accused me of theft
I bought 1 packet of lindt balls for 1p and then put through the rest of my shopping separately. The security guard marched up to me and the conversation went a bit like this:
SG ‘you didn’t pay for those maltesers’ (er I think you mean lindt balls!!)
Me ‘yes I did’
SG ‘you didn’t, I didn’t see you pay’
Me ‘well I have a receipt’
* I hand him my receipt and he looks at it, mutters ‘lindt’ then hands it back*
SG ‘actually can I see that again’
*I hand him receipt back and he mutters ‘1p, that’s a good price’ at which point I ask him for the receipt back and practically have to prise it from his hands*
Me ‘are you going to apologise‘
SG ‘No‘ and walks off.
I was livid  to say the least and part of the shop I was trying to put through the SS whilst I was being accused, included 2 Bob construction towers.
I left the store, regained my composure and went back in for my dtd and to obtain name of said security guard so that I could ring HO and complain.
Well then it just went from bad to worse. Was refused dtd as on SS. I said that I had previously been given dtd sometime ago on SS at that store, so knew this wasn’t the case.
Cue me taking managers name and calling HO the next day, who contacted the store, spoke with another manager and told me to go back to the store where my dtd would be waiting for meand also agreed to report security guard to his manager.
Well went back to the store the following day, again refused dtd. Manager said it was not policy, it was managers discretion and he could take down the board whenever he wanted. Also that HO was not HO, just a call centre :mad:
Cue him calling HO and finally agreeing to dtd.
Whilst waiting for cs sa to action dtd, manager gets called over by security manager, who is currently in talks with said security guard.
Cue her arrival at cs desk with manager to advise me that the security guard in question had not actually accused me of theft and had just asked for my receipt (to which I quickly corrected her) and she didn’t know how I’d managed to get the Lindt eggs to scan at 1p , as she had scanned them herself and they were not this price (:eek:like I have some special powers of SS tills). I corrected her and said they were Christmas balls not eggs.
She then decided that as I had, had a dtd before and therefore knew the policy existed (:eek:even though it’s on their board) that I could not have dtd.
I told her that this was some 6 months ago and the only reason I knew of the policies existence, was because the cs sa had explained it to me whilst giving me the dtd refund and I had come back to the store as told to by HO after they had spoken with another manager, and now they were changing their mind again
They finally agreed to give me the dtd, but said that I would never get it again and then they sneakily  took my club card number from my receipt.
My response ‘That’s fine, I don’t expect to be overcharged, so I don’t expect it to be a problem’
They made me so angry :mad:
Sorry for your problems. Get a new clubcard asap and dont use the old one again. My details were taken once and funnily enough a manager magically appeared at my til! They are not allowed to use your details for any other reason than those in tandc'sPlease don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -
