no she doesn't work, he has a good job, they have 3 kids, he doesn't want to split but she keeps walking out every othermonth having some crisis or other and refuses counselling or any help, it very complicated, i just wondered if anyone kne whether he may as well just give her the house now or if there was any point in him fighting for it, selling it and getting her something smaller

She might argue that her husband is selling the marital home.. I cant see the law or judge would allow that.. well they didnt in my sister's case, but she bought her ex out in the settlement..

I tend to think the best thing he can do is meet his wife, discuss it between them and see if you can come to an agreement between them..
seriously, it cost my Bro over £10,000 to fight his and his children's case.. :(:(

she's a hysterical psycho who won't discuss anything and is scarpering off seeing lawyers, no way she is going to agree to anything amicably, hope she realises what/who she has just thrown away:( thanks for the advice x

OMG your brother's case is similar to what we have going on with my friend, she took the kids but not sure why , she doesn't give a stuff about them

He only wants to stay with her for the sake of the kids, she has no interest in them or their education as she never valued education herself and has always been the housewife but he has always been the one to worry about the kids homeworks etc etc,
breaks my heart, she never deserved him and the poor children deserve better:(:(:(

Yeah well..... problem is, whoever has the children has the money... I know its not the case all the time, but when you have a parent that adore's his/her children and the other partner only wants them for the allowances, it's so unfair..

My bro's son begged him to get custody of him... he's was in a hell of a state.. my bro tried his best, but lost the court case but managed to get shared custody..

Im in tears here reading all this, it hurts so much knowing that someone else is going to go through what we've been through (yes, I went through everything with my bro, from court case to lawyers) I really feel for him, I really do...

Thanks for the info Celebrate. I want the gift to be for her as she's the one who's really gone out of her way to try to sort out my migraines, as well as the report she did for my NHS pension.

I've still got several bottles of Cono Sur so will pop one into a gift bag along with a box of nice chocs and some flowers...(there must be lots of offers on them with valentines coming up!!)
I just didn't want to do anything that could be construed as being in any way dodgy!!

    no worries, and enjoy spending!!!!
(very hard for harde core MSE'ers to spend anything I know, I'll rephrase that to spend it wisely!!:A:A)

P.S. anyone had their JTD yet? I didn't get any emails yesterday but resubmitting worked a treat. My receipts are still processing from yesterday though and there's another £30 hopefully coming back.

    Afternoon all,

Hi Caz, mine came in about an hour ago, wasn't a calculated shop so Ts came out on top :(

Only thing worth reporting is that the punnets of Nectarines on offer in Ts at the moment for £1.50 are £1 in Asda (as at yesterday)

Anyone else noticed that Ts are now adjusting thecost of the multibuy items? Does that mean that they are now taking Asda's multibuys into account too or would that be too much to ask?!!!

Could he not contact a solicitor? I think you get a free 1/2 hour. He should keep a diary of events too. Contemperanious notes always hold a lot of stead in a court should it come to thAt.

If you go to court and say she said this or did this it is often seen as tittle tat. But if you keep a diary then it counts a lot more. Include eveything thats going on, dates and time she leaves, if she takes kids, what the circumstances were etc as well as a list of financial contributions made by your friend.
Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.
