he is one! but it's like me being blase when my kids are sick?? you think you can deal with it. He has dug some v big holes for himself but it has all been to give her what she wanted and to try and salvage the marraige, i think people just give up too easy on marraige these days and everyone shoot me down but it is too easy for women to leave, in the old days when women couldn't leave (either through cultural or financial reasons) couples made an attempt to work at their problems and learn to get along, no-one has a fantastic relationship 24hrs a day, we all have habits we don't like in our OH's. I just think society has risen our expectations so much of having these perfect materialistic lives with money, holidays, cars not to mention having the perfect looks and clothes etc and it leads to so much unhappiness because that's not where real happiness comes from. It's about tolerance and selflessness and patience.:A

Someone remind me of that when I'm having a rant about my OH and yes we are back together:rotfl:

Im glad to see that your back together love... I really am... and yes, I agree we do give up too easily, and you know I think the biggest problem is?? We dont talk!!!! after supper at night, everyone sits in front the the TV or computer and forget there's someone there perhaps wanting to talk about different things, but he/she can see her/his partner is busy and bang the art of conversation has disappeared...

I have banned my OH from working at home after 7pm... where as before he'd work until bedtime... We watch TV yes, but we too talk now!!! and I mean now... its taken 12 years of being unhappy before I took the plunge and packed my bags and left home... More than anything, to teach him a lesson!!! thankfully it worked... ;););)

on a lighter note-well to make up for no T's bargains I have just "ordered" myself 3 free Ann Summers £5 gift cards,

now will have to dig out one of my T's disguises before i go in to spend them:rotfl::rotfl:

other problem is..........last time I got "dressed up" for the OH, he laughed hysterically at me!!!!!!!!!

    no worries, and enjoy spending!!!!
(very hard for harde core MSE'ers to spend anything I know, I'll rephrase that to spend it wisely!!:A:A)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That has just reminded me of a party we were invited to for our next door neighbours 60th a few years ago.
Everyone had to wear school uniforms....
It was quite a posh do and there were a lot of the village hierarchy there.......and us!!
Our neighbour is divorced but a "bit of a girl" ;) and there's talk that there were a lot of "keys in a pot" parties back in the 70's ;)
We were sat eating our puds when a little chap came up to OH and asked where the deserts were.
"In the back bedroom" OH told him "but watch yourself leaning over to get the trifle.....I nudged the dressing table and I could hear something buzzing in the drawer. I think she must have left her electric whisk in there. nudge nudge...wink wink!!"

I could have died.....OH didn't realise that it was the vicar he was speaking to :eek:
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.

nutella icing? how do you make that then?

Book says it 'hazelnut and chocolate frosting' but I like to call it Nutella frosting:
    250g icing sugar
80g unsalted butter at room temp
    25ml milk
80g haxelnut and chocolate spread e.g. nutella

Beat icing and sugar in a mixer on medium-slow. Then turn to slow, pour in milk slowly, mix then turn to high. Keep mixing until light and frothy-5 mins. Longer you beat, lighter it becomes.
stir in the spread by hand.

I thought this was way too much for 12, could be because mine melted a little bit first time, or was a bit too runny. :o
