I walked to my local t's and had to take 'baby' steps to get there! it's the slushy stuff that;s worse than ice. I should have put my ski's on but wouldn't have known how to go uphill:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Still no snow in the deep south0

First few flakes of snow just starting to descend in North Yorks.
Started at 12.15 at Elland Road, so took a while to move across then.bensonsmum wrote: »Didn't even know he could claim anything, he has been told its terminal and there is nothing they can do for him, (apart from paliative care) so i will look into this as you say it could pay for someone to call in when we are not there (im not home often as work away) just to keep an eye on him, and to make sure he has had his meds, and possibly give him something to eat. OH would love to give up his job to look after him but it would cripple us financially, that to some of you might sound selfish but we would be left with years of being in debt if he were to do this ( and have only in the last year got ourselves sorted, and thats because i work away from home) and i couldn't cope with that on top of having to watch him die. xx
When my mum was diagnosed as terminally ill it was our regular doctor that told her what she would be entitled to, if it hadnt been for them we would have been none the wiser. When mum took a turn for the worse (on holiday in France & uninsured because non would cover her:eek:) & she became very ill she was placed in to a lovely hospice, but even though she was bed ridden and needed 24 hour care, Dad & I really wanted her to be at home, we were told it was impossible by so many different doctors & departments, but we kept asking & eventually someone made it their mission to make it happen & we were allowed equipment and district nurse visits. We had agreed to do the 24 hour care between myself, DH & Dad in shifts but Mum was a fighter & after 3 months we were allowed a night nurse to come and sit with her so that DH & I could go back to work. I think your FIL will be entitled to home care of some degree, its just a matter of finding the right people to talk to to get the answers you need. Sending you lots of hugs x0 -

Can't quite work out what happened or why. Used to post on there fairly regularly but it has all dropped of lately and one of my favourite posters, Lynsey, has signed off completely.
Real shame - as with this thread, it was the community feel that made it successful and all the MSEers wanting to help each other - seems to have all got lost somehow along the way.0 -
Anyone who wants my snow is welcome to it, it might look pretty but is such a nightmare when it gets icy - looks like my first job tomorrow morning will be getting the snow shovel out - will fall to me as I have snow boots and OH doesn 'tFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Kinda lost my way with the coupon thread after I found you lot;)
But I do dip in and out of it and keep my coupons stashed but it does seem to have gone downhill, don't really know what happened but I did see some posts about people leaving, which is a real shame. Think it all started when they split it into 2, one for chat and one for coupons. Kinda spoiled it imo. There was a great sense of community over there as well, and its a shame to see that go....those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Drive home from work today, a real nightmare.
Hate the snow, the ice, compacted snow, inclines, bends, councils who don't grit priority one roads despite this weather being all over the forecasts for days.
Just because it's a weekend? Well some of us have to get to and from work, so that the rest can enjoy their weekends.
Just had a 4 hour drive to get 52 miles home.
Rant over...The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0 -
