Oh good luck with the £10 ...
I turned in £30 I found in the ATM on Christmas Eve to CS ... at first they just thanked me and took it off me ... but then I went back (remembering you had been told to wait 6 weeks etc) to ask what the next steps would be if it wasn't claimed. It was only then that they recorded it in a book and took my details (still didn't mention 6 weeks) and said they'd "let me know".
Anyway a few weeks ago while at the CS desk I enquired about it. SA looked it up ... and low and behold it had been claimed. No "thank-you" from "Dr xxx" (I read this upside down) nada!
Don't think I'll be doing that again ... cos anyone could have seen/heard me ... waited a minute or two and then "Oh ... I've just been to the ATM ..."
Not sure that MrT will be able to do anything with the £30. Cash machine information, transactions ect, will only be held by the owning bank if someone said it was theirs how would they be able to prove. Places like MrT just normally will said its nothing to do with them go to your bank. It will be interesting to see what happens when you go back in 6 weeks.0 -
Now who remembers the tesco direct stacking codes before christmas (end of octoberish) - you could get £50+ of clothes for under £20
Well I ordered a ahem few bits just checked my clubcard statement online and something funny happened with the points .......... they seem to have duplicated the points added to my CC ........ more than once ........ in fact over 15 times duplicated for each order i placed
ROFL thanks Mr T for my bonus

Woo hoo
Just received my andrex puppy points from the on the go loo rolls
Have 17 so sent them in and they sent me 5 codes
I know I should have sent them in 4's but thought I would chance it and it paid off and just entered them on the double up for andrex so got a nice lil stash of points
Disappointed on the rewards at the mo so will save them till there is a cuddly dog back on there
Cheers to the op who mentioned about sending them in
Xxx
I think it was mmw that suggested sending them off.
I save them for the cinema vouchers, I don't trust any of these schemes not to suddenly stop, I had a huge amount of points on my Barclaycard years ago I was saving for something big & they just suddenly stopped the scheme :mad:0 -

Ah, thanks for the wishes, but no luck
In fact, there was *magically* no record of it whatsoever. Manager showed me the screen on the computer and nothing there at all about cash turned in. DH says that there may be an unfortunate moral to this story... I don't know where that fine line is between pocketing it and realistically thinking that it will get back to the owner.
A while back I found a company credit card- traced the company and found the employe, and rang him up. I returned the card by registered post- and had a very touching letter of thanks... "restoring my [his] faith in humanity" ... turns out it was the managing director of the place!
-so that story had a happy ending, but today I can't help being a bit cynical and thinking that someone at Mr. T's had an extra tenner, still I have a clear conscience.
also... scanned EVERYTHING (chic, toys, clipstrip stuff...) at the pharmacy, and not even a wink of luck!
there's always next time!0 -
Morning all.
All ok in my world now, my nine month old DGD is out of hospital. Still chesty but doesn't need help breathing now. :j:j:j That's the best birthday present that I shall get tomorrow. All of you nannies/grannies/grandads will know what I mean.
Haven't caught up yet (again) but...
nikkilala - hope that you are feeling better.
tinyshoes - hope that your mum enjoyed her birthday - I'm sure that you would have done everything possible to ensure that she did.
happychappy - great to see your posts again.
Reading the posts of people finding money reminded me of when I found £200+. It was years ago when I worked in Oxford Street in London, it was my last day there as I was going to live in Spain. Someone left the money in a pencil case at the cash desk. I found it and gave it to the manager who said that he would hand it into the police. There was no contact details etc in it. I was told that if it wasn't claimed within 3 months then I could keep it. A few weeks later, I received a letter from the manager saying that the money had been claimed and the owner asked him to pass on his thanks to me. About 6 weeks later, I had a letter from a guy that I used to work with at the store. He told me that he'd gone home for a holiday to see his family (he was Spanish) and it turned out that the money had belonged to the doctor in the village where his family lived. He remembered meeting the doctor at the store because of the coincidence of them coming from the same village. He hadn't had the money returned to him. Turns out that the manager kept the money himself. A few months later, he was caught embezzelling from the company and later jailed. Just desserts, methinks!0 -
