Ahh yes dcon_blue, I meant to reply to your question about plants for hanging baskets.
If you want plants that will regrow each year, then you need hardy perennials (although with a heavy frost, this can never be guarenteed) if you want plants that don't die down at all in the winter, then you will need evergreens.
A few good perennials for hanging baskets are phlox, campanulas, fuschias and nemesia, but make sure they are hardy varieties or cover them or bring them in if a frost is forecast.
    hth :)

Brilliant ... thanks for this Fudge!

My eldery neighbour died nearly 2 yrs ago, the house is still empty and the new owners have builders in but the back garden has a fuschia bush ... (and maybe more?) ... I may have to nip over and take a cutting. :D I suppose I'd better wait till the weather gets a bit better(?)

    Many thanks Lovelies ♥
I want to be there to help

Trying to get hold of Mum's friend who is a nurse to see if she can call in but no answer - she crews sailing ships around the world..
Looks like it will be tomorrow as last train is 4.40pm & I'll get to Haslemere at 10.30pm tonight - just don't want to travel & tube it across London so late on my own (is this selfish? what to do?)

Of course you are not being selfish. Just think how worried your mum would be thinking about you travelling across London by yourself. Best to try and get a good nights sleep and go first thing in the morning. Sending hugs.

that is absolutely fantastic! I would love to see in your freezer sounds like a good few meals in there. mine is pretty impressive too i have 2 freezers filled to the brim, i have to take woopsies out there packaging to get them into the freezer. hubby keeps saying lets use up the stuff in the freezer before you buy anymore! lol but i just can't. we have never ever had so much me meat in our lifes. Its proper "grub". i think when you have plenty meat we tend to eat much more fresh veg too, the whole meet potatoes 2 veg kicks in. we used to eat more pizzas kievs and stuff but now i just look at that as junk. When you look at what you can save, you just think "i'm never going back to full prices" mind you there is always 'run ins' with falk at our extra its always the same people (including me) waiting on the bargains. some people go every night.
    Enjoy your bargain dinners xxxxxx

Awww thanks! And congratulations on your freezers full of whoopsies too! It makes me smile everytime I go to the freezer sad as it is, knowing how much money I've saved...I like to think in bags and shoes, not in pounds ;):rotfl:

Yes we're eating a lot more fresh meat now than ever before though I'll still get the odd pack of chicken kievs or suchlike if it's whoopsied!! :D We aren't saints by any means, out of convenience dinner is sometimes pizza or fish fingers. We used to eat a lot more frozen processed food like crispy chicken pieces etc but today in M's I picked up 2 packs of Birds Eye frozen chicken chargrills whoopsied to 49p for 2 (I'd always paid about £1 in the past) I popped them in my basket and wandered along to get some peas and thought, hang on what am I doing??!!! I've buy a pack of 2 large fresh chicken breasts a week ago for 10p and I'm gonna pay 49p for this?!! :eek:And so they went back in the freezer cabinet :D Amazing how obsessed I've become with hunting down bargains and knowing exactly what a bargain is:T

I'm forever thinking I won't buy anymore, drain the freezer right down....and then I step foot in the supermarket at whoopsie o'clock!:p:o

Yep there's the regulars in every store I think, luckily mine seems pretty darn civilised atm but in the last few days there's been hardly any whoopsies to be had! :(

    Oh and whoopsie envy......yesssssssssssss!!! :p:p:p:p:rotfl:

Thanks Lovelies for being here for me & my Dad ♥

Dad is now in hospital awaiting to be seen. The Dr who came to the house suspects he has a fractured pelvis. Paramedics had to give him laughing gas to get him on the stretcher to get him out of house as he can't sit up.
Anyway I did interfere & rang their best friends & they have been superb, wanting to help Mum :T offering lifts, staying with her etc etc ♥

I bet this has put your mind at rest a bit. Your father's in the best place under the circumstances, and it's good to know that your mum has supportive friends who can help out. Hope everything goes okay tomorrow.

Just noticed on one of the wombled receipts that I got a JTD that WEIGHT WATCHERS BEEF HOTPOT 320G ... T = £1.75 ... A £1.00

Has anyone who got the WW glitch Price Checked their receipt yet? I got a batch or 12 @ £1.75 (3 Hotpots, 3 Shephard Pies and 6 Chillis) which went thru at £6. I've not PC'd mine yet (gonna do it now) ... but if I get 75p x 12 I could be getting £9 back. :T

Even a better glitch than first thought :j

The last time I saw so much fresh meat was at the butchers. All I need to do now is open the freezer. Unfortunately for me the freezer is the small half of an American style fridge freezer. Somehow I manage to fit stuff into it but it's a fine art. I had to ditch some whoopsied samosas to fit in one of the 3 blocks of butter but the bag for the samosas was ripped so I didn't feel as guilty. I keep saying I must stop buying and run the freezer down but you just never know when something could happen that I have to fall back on it all. I wish I could add it all up (more for insurance purposes) and see what's there but it's the frozen version of Jenga trying to get at anything.

I'm jealous of those who have more than one freezer. I'm sure if I put my mind to it I could find a cheap one from fleabay or gumtree but the only place to put it is the garage and the roof has more holes that swiss cheese so a fire hazard waiting to happen with all the electrics out there :(
