Re the swearing debate and covering it up. When I was little in the 70s I had quite a bad swearing habit (and I'm no better now). My Mam hit on the genius idea of ignoring when I said a bad word but making a huge fuss when I said a couple of words that she told me were swear words and I must never use..... for all you 70s kids out there you will remember these products well - Dentinox & Copydex. I used to run around shouting that Mam was an old Copydex and I would get a "real" row for it. When I got a reaction at those words I stopped using proper swearwords as they weren't shocking.

So if you see me saying that I was trouted by a Dentinoxing Copydex of a SA you'll know what I mean! :rotfl:

    Love it :)

When my son was about 4 he came home from playschool and his new word was buggar teddy was a silly buggar the book was a naughty buggar if it fell off his lap, each time he said it he looked at me, I ignored him, after a while he says to me "Mammy is buggar a naughty word" I told him it wasn't a very nice word but I knew a word that was much much worse, so he started begging and pleading to be told it.
I refused as it was sooooooooooo bad, in the end I said ok but its so bad I have to whisper it, I bend down and whispered in his ear fiddlesticks :D from then on it was his new word plus it got a reaction as adults would giggle when this little lad came out with this old fashioned word

We live just down the road from the Black Country Living museum and often the local paper gives a free entry ticket, I will pop in there just to visit the chippie as there is 2 of them 1 cooks in veg oil the other still uses lard, the queue is always longer at the "traditional" chippie

I keep meaning to go there but have never got around to it. Free tickets would be good so can you shout up next time the tickets are in the paper please? :)

Bensonsmum How is your FIL doing? been thinking of you and your family (((hugs)))

Thanks for asking - no change as such, more tests carried out yesterday and going to have more biopsies done on tuesday, god only knows where they are going to take these from?? The hospital has been shut to visitors since wednesday as there is an outbreak of the "norovirus" (sp??) going around, which makes it really hard for him as my OH and him are just so close, so they have been speaking on the phone quite a bit. He is seeing the radiologist on wednesday so heres hoping he can do something for him, fingers crossed.

I had a message from him on my answerphone yesterday saying could i go in and pick him up as they were letting him go home, so i rang the hospital and sadly it was wishful thinking on his part - for some reason he thought i would be able to sneak him out while they were doing their handover, when i told my OH he was heartbroken as just wants the best for his dad, but to bring him home at the moment wouldn't be doing him any favours.

Will keep you all informed when i know anymore. Thanks again for all the huggs and good wishes xxx
