Morning sun lovers, awake extremely early this morning due to someone actually using a JCB in the village at 5.30. Yukkkkkk!!! FTM - sorry to hear about your poor DH and little Fern too, hope they mend quickly. You all seem to be going through the mill lately healthwise am sending lots of Hugs and Betterness to you in the hope it will at least make you feel better. Thanks to you and SM for your good wishes re - the hairy one, he suffers in the heat at the best of times so is not enjoying this weather but the anti-inflamatories he is on seem to have made him a lot more comfy. Back to the vet next week for a check but I think he is fine! I shall be popping into town this morning on the bus (Free Bus Passes are such a useful thing when you are a pensioner) and will visit my favourite CSs as well as getting some fresh fruit and veg. I have just put the last two summer quilts through the wash so that is everything clean and fresh thanks to this lovely spell of weather Have a lovely weekend all Cheers Lyn x.0

Morning MrsLw, hope you find nice stuff in the CS's, I'v just put a load of washing on the line, then I'm going to brave L*dl for the bake bean's and bacon.
Guuuurrrrr! to JCB at that time in the morning.£71.93/ £180.000 -
Thanks BOULTDJ - the Guuuuurrrrr was rather what I felt at the time however, it is really lovely in the garden at that time of day, everything quiet and the air fresh and not 'used' so when the Grrrr feeling wore off I was rather grateful!!!! Have a good trip to L*dl, I must go again soon for tinned Toms. Cheers Lyn x.0

I am glad you are having a better day FTM. You are the glue in your family, they are so lucky to have you
I was up at 5 as well and that is pretty normal for me, I must be a lark. It was too warm last night and the house retained the heat overnight so all windows open very early on before the pollen starts. I went into the garden a few times to set up the whole pile of watering spikes and bottles that were kept in a corner. So much easier than watering and seeing it run through.
By seven, the air fiters, set on auto, came on, on their highest speed and dust pollution was being indicated as high. It can only be coming in on the warm wind. I shut all the windows and it did indeed feel cooler by then but it took a good half an hour to clean the air
I have done my positive thing for the day and made 6 sand bag rolls for holding down net cages. Any spikes ruin the enviromesh and big stones are awkward and too pointy and hard. I use sandbags (ebay) and grit or somesuch, usually bought in broken bags and I make the shapes with duck tape. They are very good, much better than the poly bags of sand or the cloth sausages that are now disintegrating
Grit is brilliant by the way, for topping the soil in long term pots. Many plants seem to love it
I put baby plants in the allotment yesterday late morning, I had to as watering was too hard, they were doing fine last night. Good old clay soil, it does hold moisture well. They will need another soaking tonight and that should do it0 -
FTM - you can't help folks being ill, it's not your fault and you couldn't in all fairness drag a littlie with a bad throat to a formal do like a wedding. Just think how much worse they would have reacted if she'd played up a bit because she felt poorly. I don't see that there was choice for you. You are just being a responsible parent. As you say they have your good wishes and a lovely day, what they wouldn't thank you for is whatever it is that Fern has got!!!!! Enjoy your day and when the time comes enjoy your new finery! Keep your chin up and let family come round in thier own time. Hugs Lyn xxx.0

Morning all, another really hot day coming up and DH has already walked the pooch and departed to the lottie before it becomes too hot. FTM - Hope Fern is better today and that you have got your balance back after the upset of yesterday. We are going to put up our trailer tent and give it an airing this morning, we haven't really used it much and are going to try to sell it on. It might as well go to someone who will use it as it has just sat in the garden here, all packed up for the past 3 years. We can use the space it will free up to extend the woodpile. Have a good day everyone Cheers Lyn x.0

Be careful re the trailer tent - you might decide you love it still and book yourselves a break!:D
We are off in the caravan on Friday (Friday :j) - only going an hour away to the Peaks. It will be my first real relaxing break since last August, as although we have been away, it hasn't exactly been relaxing. Bit of walking and cycling maybe. Staying till Tuesday. Am on a mission to try and get through the bulk of the marking so it doesn't have to come with me.
I'd better get on with it then - but the garden is calling!:pI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Morning all..wowsers its hot..fern is much improved this morning thankfully..so is hubby...i am so glad we didn't go the wedding..apparently the venue wasn't ready when they got there for the reception and they had to wait outside in the heat for almost 3 hours...i can only imagine the discomfort of little ones bet it was awful..brother is not happy and demanding some money back..don't blame him..my dd went and said it was unbearable and my grand-daughter got sun burn despite being covered in factor 50...
I went to the carboot..only took £5 and came home with
Fern's bag
1 next summer dress lilac with embroidered flowers
1 pair next three quarter length jeans
1 next black and white stripy dress shirt
1 pale blue summer dress
1 black pumpkin patch skirt
1 dora the explorer bath towel
Iris's bag
1 pale blue summer dress that matches ferns
1 next summer skirt
1 next summer top
1 next shrug
1 next summer hat
1 flowery bath towel
1 john lewis housecoat
So i am very happy with all of them and for £5 i think i did very well..got home and hubby had put washing out and hoovered up for me..no big sunday lunch today too hot to cook so we have settled on a big salad no cooking required...
MLW..a big tent..you may want to keep as you never know you may want a cheap break.
VJ'mum..lucky you.get that marking done my girl so you can totally relax on your liitle break..
right got to go and help with lunch..
take care all
