Well done Miss Fuddle, words beyond her years, you must be so proud.

Well the sun is shining today, although a little cloudy. I did the washing first thing, then we popped to the SM and then off to see Sister and BIL.

I will be so glad when it is warmer and we can actually put some bedding plants out.

I had my hair cut last week so I look human again :) and Himself had his done at the same time (barbers one side of the shop and ladies the other), and tomorrow I have my usual 3 week nail appointment. Had bloods done last Friday ready for my appointment with the renal man next Tuesday. Goodness knows what they will show, I feel fine but there again I didn't know there was anything wrong with my kidneys before. We will have to wait and see.

Our new neighbours next door are lovely. They don't speak much English, I think they may be Iranian, but they bought some guinea pigs for the children and their numbers have already increased by 4. They have found a way into our garden, and luckily can find their way back. We had 2 guinea pigs when our girls were young. They make such lovely chirruping sounds and have such pretty faces. Flora our cat sits transfixed on the kitchen windowsill as they appear one by one. Probably as well she is a house cat :)

DGD1 has bought me a new garden parasol for my birthday, which is next week, so I just need the sun to be able to use it.

I hope everyone is reasonably well, and I am sure you are all hoping for some warmth to your body, as I am.

    Have a good day all

  • Hi Candlelight I too so wish it was warmer I'm getting fed up with having to wear warm jumpers you'd never know it was early May would you?

We've just been and signed our wills, something we should have done many years ago but although we'd talked it over until now had never acted on the idea. I thought it would be daunting to address our own mortality but it was completely painless and the solicitor was lovely and made all very factual and straightforward and easy. I feel for some reason slightly easier in mind now it is all decided and in place but hope to be around for many more years yet!!!

We bought a suitcase for our coming holiday to Iceland in the Debenhams sale today, reduced to £45 from £140 so good as a saving and something we'll use many times, good sturdy one too!!!

I had a good sort out in all the kitchen cupboards this morning and have shed some equipment that has been on top shelves languishing unused for more years than I can remember, we're gearing up to do a boot fair and all shelves are now washed, re packed and things in sensible order.....and I will NOT be able to locate a single thing for weeks but it's worth it to restore order in there. Just waiting for my little pal Maisie doggie to come so we can go walkies and then she will stay with us for the evening, she really has bloomed in these few months she's been socialising with us to the point where her mum and dad had a house party over the Easter Sunday with upwards of 20 people dropping in at various points in the day and she didn't bark at anyone and was quite happy to wander in and out with rooms full of completely unknown (to her) people and was just totally relaxed about the whole thing, such a difference!

I'm off to Nell this weekend for another concert which I'm looking forward to very much and hopefully the weather will be nice on Sunday so we can spend some time in the garden. I think I'll buy us a joint and do a roast which we might eat outdoors in the sun, wouldn't that be nice??? I'll let you know .....

My DD's are poles apart; eldest a rule follower, determined and principled while youngest is relaxed, permanently happy and seeks the homely feel. I have all of those characteristics and find it bizarre that my girls have it split down the middle and then some.

Guess what? I can see clearly now the crack-that-was-caused-my-big-doofus-self has gone! It's window day. It's like having a new pair of glasses! I believe I am being cursed by the installer though. "Would you like me to replace the shoddy plaster job or fit a nice new PVC strip for a neat line?" I'd like you to replace the shoddy plasterwork please. It's part of the house. The poor bloke has been pointing the stone for ages. I feel awful but I don't like those plastic strips plus they come off after time.

If there's candles to be lit tonight please could I be in your thoughts? I have a tight chest and cough. I'm doing everything in my power to get fit again but I've been here before and I'm worried. I was literally chewing on cloves last night in a desperate measure to get some healing. Yes, I too believe I'm a bit touched. ;)
  • Don't feel sorry for the man doing the plastering petal it's what he SHOULD be doing, plastic strip indeedy!!!!!

Look after your little self and get to that GP before anything develops rather than later. With your health history the sooner it's tackled and treated the better lovey!

Will certainly light a candle my friend but also reiterate what Lyn said and make sure you visit that GP x

Oh yes please to warmer weather as well, am fed up with putting layers on and desperately need to feel the sun on my skin, even when I'm working in the garden am bundled up against that lazy old wind and pretty fed up with it too!
Slight change of plan with our May holiday, with the limited slots available at the kennels we couldn't find anywhere self catering wise in Dorset that tied in with those dates, so we are now going to the Cotswolds :) have only ever really driven through so would be good to see the sights. We are in a cottage a few miles outside Morton in the Marsh so well placed to visit Warwick Castle, Blenheim, Stratford etc and am so looking forward to seeing them all, let's just hope the weather is good!
Good that you have nice neighbours Candlelight along with cute garden visitors, I loved my guinea pigs as a child and they often went on quite exciting adventures, I blame Tales from the Riverbank :)
SM with all that exercise could you be replacing fat with muscle which weighs heavier, just a thought?
My problem is always that exercise makes me hungry and because I've done some I think I deserve a treat..... or two...

Right, the girls want their tea, gets earlier every day, love to all x

Fuddle, exactly as Lyn and Lainey say, get to the Doctor. I know you do everything to stay well, but isn't it time they had the pneumonia jab ready for you.

    Take care of yourself

    Much love

Lainey, I love Warwick Castle and Stratford on Avon If you have a sunny day it is lovely to take a ride on one of the tourists boats along the river in Stratford, and see the most beautiful houses, most of which have their own moorings. Stratford also has a Christmas shop which is open all year, seems very weird to see in the middle of summer.

Have a lovely time, a change will do you both good

    Much love

Lyn, have a lovely time with Nell, and wouldn't it be lovely to be able to sit out in the garden and eat supper.

How exciting a trip to Iceland, you must be looking forward to it, is that the 3 of you?

    Much love

No pneumonia jab until the new season in the autumn was what I was told last week but I agree, you're all right, I shall seek advice tomorrow. Drat, it's such a stressful experience trying to get an appointment. In the mean time I'll keep an eye on my temperature, heart rate and the minute I get past a tight chest to painful breathing I will be calling 111. I've been doing my deep breathing exercises and using my blue inhaler too, just to try keep everything moving.

Thank you, you wonderful lot, you. :D
