We have a pot "shaped" like an onion that DH made at school over 45 years ago! He kept it when he & his brothers cleared their parental home last January, along with the decanter set given to his dad when he stepped down as Seniors Secretary aged 84!

  • Evening everyone, just back from the best party I've been to in ages, if you'd told me that 16 assorted friends of a grandson and their little brothers and sisters would make it the best day I can remember I'd have laughed! as it is I've invited myself again next year and so has He Who Knows!!! 3 hardy souls went on the bear hunt in the woods with their parents and everyone else arrived at home for about 11.30. I had all the food prepared and laid out, He Who Knows had the coffee and tea station and also washed up as we went, I had Orley minding duties as well which left parents free to do and socialise too, Ezra just had a whale of a time and thoroughly enjoyed himself, as is only right. The drive home was very wet but here now, had tea, fire lit and stew from Friday evening is already cooked so just need to reheat it and relax. Super stuff!!!

I can see you've had a whale of a time there Lyn, no literally I see you quite happily in your element. :D

I've spent the weekend worrying about not being stressed. Now there's a contradiction. Stress is the only indication as to what could be causing such rubbish immunity and when I read what stress can do to the body I am even more worried. I don't know how to calm down but need to learn pretty quickly.

I am now pretty much pain free with 3 more days of antibiotics left so I should be able to kick this gone and then my next battle will be with the GP receptionist trying to get myself the pneumonia jab which I have been refused before because of my age.

I have forwarded the signed auction agreement onto my sister and asked her to sign it as it is now my turn to have my wishes met. For me auction is the least stressful option and I want to be listened to now. She has agreed.

All that leaves for a very sad, very worried little fuddle, and Lyn, I'm afraid I have visited 'why me' this weekend. I just don't know what to do to help myself.
  • Hi FUDS, if you have any problems get in touch with the consultants receptionist and get them to write to the GP stating you ARE to have the pneumonia jab because of your medical history, that should sort it out. If you get no satisfaction go to A&E or the Out of Hours surgery at the hospital they will be able to access your records and ought to be in a position to give you the jab. Glad you are now almost pain free, draining when you are sore and uncomfortable all the time isn't it love? I think when all is settled and you are safely installed in your own home, knowing no one can move you on or cause you distress related to a tenancy you will start to settle down. Your life has been so uncertain and unsettled over the past few years it is no wonder you feel 'why me' once in a while, you're only human girlie NOT superwoman! Get mums house auctioned off done and dusted and all the legalities completed with your house and then it's a brand new start and you can make life what you want it to be, and you will, I have every confidence that your path will be the one YOU want it to be, keep the faith small one xxx.

Although I realise how ill fuddle has been, I don't think A&E is the place to go to ask for a pneumonia vaccination. A&E stands for Accident and Emergency!
  • I'm well aware of what A & E stands for M'dear but if you can't receive the treatment you are told to have by the consultant treating you at the hospital at your GPs surgery the most obvious place to get it sorted out is at the hospital where they will have access to your records and the consultants notes. I doubt the consultant will give an appointment to sort out a pneumonia jab no matter how sorely needed where else do you suggest as a place to find someone who is not only in possession of the vaccine but also willing to administer it?

Ah don't worry 'tis ok. If I have any problems in getting past the receptionist I will talk to the practice manager. I am sure a GP will action it, it's just getting to that point that's the problem. Really, don't fall out.
  • S' a valid point pet, I only suggested A & E as it's accessible and perhaps only to be thought of if ALL else fails to get you the jab. I wondered if srn might actually know the best place to try as from the username I'm guessing she/he might work in the NHS?

Non of that is important anyway :p I have to keep next Friday clear in my diary as i'll be picking up a certain set of keys. Contract signing occurs this Thurs then all systems go for the week after :D

That and the prospect of lamb chops in minted gravy has lifted my 'woe me' wobble and an order of probiotic and prebiotic supplements. Lets be honest, I've not really looked after myself, really. *shakes finger at herself!
  • WOOHOO contracts!!! Oh I shall be so happy for you small one, it's been an interesting journey hasn't it lovey? but one I'm certainly sure you'll be extremely pleased to take the last step of, over the threshold of your OWN HOME forever and ever and a day! xxx
