Fuddle I hope you're feeling much better soon.

We don't really have that consistent dullness the UK gets during the winter, in fact we often get some cracking sunshine, and sometimes don't need a jumper during the day, once the sun has got going. But I hate going to and from work in the dark, and the nights are chilly, we often jsut give up and go to bed. But it still feels like a long slog with nothing to break it up. :-/
  • Fuddle and Lyn - I hope you are both feeling better. I came back hale and hearty and mid way through this afternoon developed a streaming nose which saw off a full packet of tissues and some loo roll - all in the space of about an hour. I thought it was never going to stop. Now I'm fine again - very odd.

I brought home another bundt tin Fuddle - nice cake tns are a bit of a weakness. I did measure my dining room chairs before we left our other place and I'll keep an eye out for cheap upholstery fabric here. Gives me an excuse to stroll to Remnant Kings from time to time on the odd occasion I can manage a lunch "hour".

Lainey - I suspect dealing with many organisations will be by far the most frustrating aspect for you. There are certain companies I find I'm in defensive mode before I've even dialled the number:o

The dishwasher is fixed:j it was a sensor. The man said he had fitted 8 identical ones last week and every single person affected had been on holiday for a few weeks. Apparently certain manufacturers recommend you never leave the machine unused for more than 7 days - I won't repeat my response to that!

So hubby has just deposited an entire set of clothes on the utility room floor. He was working on his vintage tractor and the fuel pump blew off - my house smells like a garage forecourt so I best go find some vanish and whatever else I can throw in to kill the smell. The joys:D

  • Morning playmates, feeling less 'wet' than yesterday but still feeling blitzed by this cold! at least the nose seems to be less active today which is a blessing although I am sneezing for England!!!

The horrid freezing fog has dissipated this morning and we have a milky sky and some wintry sunshine out there but it's cold still. Going to have another easy day and stay in the warm so not walking Cookie this afternoon and I've cancelled Maisie too. Hopefully I can see this off before the weekend when we are going to Zebras birthday party and I'll need to be up to speed to keep up with a house full of 3 year olds.

FUDDLE I hope you're improving day by day pet, hang in there!

3 years old! Lyn, where did that time go to?! We never had any of your freezing fog here in fact yesterday was a much needed sunny day.

Hanging there alright. The past 16 hours has been unbearable. The infection ramped up and was winning the battle causing me a lot of pain to breathe but I have just woken and shocked at the amount of improvement made while I slept.

Today consists of bed and nothing else. Normal service to resume ASAP my friends.
  • Good girl, you stay resting until you're on the mend! It's going to take a while to get you back to being fit and able to take on the world again pet, you'll feel frustrated at NOT being able to be 100% up and running again as quickly as you'd like to BUT patience and acceptance now will see you there much more quickly than trying to do things and setting your little self back to square one again. Normal service can definitely wait awhile eh? xxx.

I hear you Lyn, grinning here at gently being told to hold my horses. :) I know I'm a b*ggar when it comes trying to back to being busy but essentially I want my strength so I am going to behave.

We were almost set with dates for the house but the seller hadn't completely filled in the paper work so it has to go back through the solicitors likely to knock back completion but I'm fine with that. I need a bit of time to be able to enjoy the process I have longed for for so long. :D

  • Good morning all,

Well here I am, almost back in the land of the living having had the worse virus I have ever known. Almost 4 weeks both of us have had it, and unfortunately Himself now has a chest infection, which doesn't go well with heart failure. He has AntiBs for 7 days so hopefully that will clear it

Fuddle, you have been in the wars again I see. Luckily you know what to look for now and hopefully can nip it in the bud quickly. We have a friend who has had pneumonia several times requiring being admitted to hospital, and now he has a pack of antibiotics to keep in case he recognises the symptoms again. As you know you can't always have an immediate GP appointment, so he has these to take until an appointment can be had.

Take good care of yourself Fuddle, we want you fighting fit for the big move.

Lyn do you still have the sniffles or has it receded? I know this is the time of the year for nasty bugs, but this one has been particularly nasty.

Lainey I am so pleased you are managing to sort things out, and at the same time having a little treat, you so deserve it, and I know your Mum would agree. Unfortunately at this time of year it can take several weeks to have a funeral, but at least it is giving you time to do things.

Short and sweet today, but take care everyone, it is quite foggy here

    Much love

    Candlelightx
  • Hi CANDLELIGHT nice to see you back with us love. I DO still have the sniffles which are now accompanied by a head full of glue, lungs full of feathers and a body that feels like it's been put through the mangle. Didn't wake up until twenty to nine this morning and found He Who Knows had already gone to walk Cookie. Look after yourself and Mr.C. this freezing weather will do none of us any good if we venture out in it, I even cancelled Maisie last night as I didn't want to go out.

January makes you shiver as the old rhyme says!
