  • I guess it's not just me being awkward then and realistically we can't live in 'ault' 100% of the time can we? He Who Knows has suggested a run out somewhere tomorrow which would be a nice diversion. I'm finding things political VERY wearisome at the moment and all this stupidity about people dressing up as clowns with weapons, anyone enlighten me as to just how this is supposed to be funny??? passes me completely and I cannot understand how anyone COULD think that sort of thing acceptable.

I wish we could just get on with Brexit, I wish the opposition would help instead of continually pouring scorn and criticism on the existing government and I wish that Europe would grow up and stop bullying the UK because they want to stand on their own feet again. Oh my goodness I am in a bad mood today aren't I.....Sorry!!! xxx.
  • Floss and Lyn let us hope it passes quickly, I have just read your posts to Himself, so he knows he is not alone with this feeling.

We just put the news on, only to find it was PM question time and as you say that "wearisome man" was on. I am not a political person by any means, but I did vote to stay. We have to give the government time to work through this, it obviously can't be done overnight, and it would be good, although I suspect impossible, if the opposition could be helpful and as you say Lyn, not pour scorn and criticism on everything. My own opinion is Theresa May will make a fine PM. She clearly doesn't suffer fools gladly and I think she is a lady of integrity. This comes from someone who was brought up in a socialist household(my Dad was a toolmaker and worked in a factory all of his working life). and we have to give this government a chance. They have a mammoth task ahead of them.

That's me off my soap box, sorry, as I say I don't know much about politics but we have to give them a chance.

I promise I won't bring up the subject again :)

    Afternoon everyone,

Sorry to hear that folks are feeling antsy, you are right Lyn, there does seem to be so much negativity around at the moment and we are bombarded with it wherever we go. This business with the clowns is downright intimidating and it won't be long before there is a tragedy, already there is a backlash against the buffoons who are dressing up with lots of posturing & threats being made :(

Thank you Candlelight, we did enjoy our little tea party yesterday and it was good that Mum could catch up with her friends and all the news. On the whole she isn't doing badly, at the moment she is in very little pain and her appetite has certainly improved, what she actually eats is very small but at least she enjoys it :)

Anyways, better dash as there is a handsome horse waiting for his Mum to turn up with carrots and cuddles.

Have a good evening all, much love xx
  • Give that Mr Horse a big cuddle from his Aunty Lyn xxx.

    Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear how you're all feeling - those nights drawign in doesn't help does it?

We have SUNSHINE today! 2 1/2 weeks of rain almost every day and today it's sunny! Hooray!! Can't quite get out on the bike - I'd wanted to cycle in this morning but I tried it last night and I need a bit more motion in my knee. Perhaps by the weekend (when it will no doubt be raining again).

Hope you're all feeling better soon,

    much love

Well I am so sorry to hear of glumness in one respect but relieved in another as I have been somewhat grouchy and lacklustre hence my being shushed on MSE.

I have green tea in the cupboard so will dig it out again. I leave the bag in as I sup, does anyone else do that?

Yes I have been crocheting :D now it's a gamble because handmade presents aren' t very well received within my family but I making bear scarves for the little ones. Simple but lovely. Well I think so anyway!

School have introduced a new pen for DD. Her confidence has grown within days. As long as DD is happy I'm happy. Her full assessment is after half term.

Edit: so sorry my post is sharp, cold and lacks warmth etc told you I was grouchy :(
  • Fuddle, don't worry, I think it is seasonal.

Himself has cheered up a bit this afternoon, and is, as we speak, tucking in to a bag of crisps. NORMAL SERVICE HAS BEEN RESUMED thank goodness :)

I hope you feel brighter tomorrow

    Hi again all .
Lyn I hope you feel a little brighter now . Think of the good things you have to look forward to .
Candlelight Glad your husband is feeling a bit more cheerful and enjoying his crisps .
Sorry the shoulder is still a problem Hoglet and hope it mends soon .
The tea party sounds just perfect Lainey , I hope you enjoyed your time with Billy E .
Fuds glad to see your daughter is getting some proper help and I hope things continue to progress in a positive direction . Those scarves sound lovely . I love homemade gifts with time and love in each stitch . Look after yourself love you're doing just fine .
I confess the clown thing has really annoyed me . I despair of the sheer ignorance and stupidity of people craving a moment of you tube "fame ". Someone will end up being hurt whether the perpetrator or the victim . Youngest daughter has a life long fear of clowns and if one was to come near us I'm afraid they will hit the floor with a bang and I'll take the punishment !
I have been mulling over people feeling down today . I suppose the turn of the seasons has on impact on us . Living with fairly defined seasons our bodies and minds need to make a rapid adjustment . I personally love this time of year and see it as a time for hunkering down and lighting the candles . I love warm thick jumpers and comfort foods . I don't enjoy the impact on joints and muscles but this year I have found the high humidity harder to cope with .
The fact that I have not been able to garden as much as I used to has meant that unlike Lyn I am no longer involved as much in grow , tend , harvest and store so I haven't had the sudden change from full on gardening to less activity .
I look around the world and really whatever the problems I feel we are lucky compared to so many both in this country and around the world . So sorry for wittering on but I do as Pollyanna did count my blessings .
Night all , hope tomorrow is good

It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

There but for fortune go you and I.

There is a full moon to look forward to this weekend, a time for healing. Hopefully all the little niggles and grouchinesses will be banished then!
