I do hope so nargle. I fight feeling what I'm genetically predisposed to feel (narcissism, depression and martyrdom) everyday. Feeling like this just makes me feel like I could well be losing the battle. To the weekend then!
  • Thank you my lovelies, much better today and looking forward to a trip out somewhere when He Who Knows gets back from the Cookie walk this morning. The house can look after itself as far as housework is concerned, it will still be here tomorrow and I'm going to enjoy seeing some new scenery as we drive. Roll on the full moon this weekend, being a dotty old bat I'll get some flying practise !!!

Glad to hear that you are feeling better today Lyn, enjoy your day and don't worry about the housework, if mine gets too bad I just enlist the help of the woodland animals :rotfl:
You are so right re the moon and how it effects us etc NB, I never sleep as well at a full moon but feel so energised. Full moon at the weekend does mean that it will be moon dark at Samhain mind.

Quick visit today as off to see DM shortly, have a lovely Thursday my friends x

Well you've inspired me to read up on the effects of a full moon. I'm very much guided by our natural world anyway so it interests me. :)

Lyn the colours here are beautiful. Our leaves have turned and are lovely in reds and oranges. I hope your leaves are too and that your drive out make some positive imprints in your mind.

I have just been poached by another charity shop! I have to say I am tempted because there is a real sense of community and chat in that one where as ours is ran by retail managers and somewhat pressured/red tape fuelled but I can't let them down. They have so much stock that they are selling children's wear at 3 items for a £1. They showed me their stock room. Wow. The community really rally round the shop. A rare gem that retail hasn't influenced. A community hub whereby donations go round and round. Somewhere where people who struggle financially can clothe and entertain their families for minimal outlay. Warmed me I have to say.

Trying to beat my beast today and with that I shall get active. A clean, tidy, organised home equals a happy me. Now, where's me pinny! :)
  • Good morning all 3rd attempt at posting , my last 2 went off into the ether and were never seen again .
Lyn I hope your day out lifts your mood and gives you new joys in the day . I think everyone is really stressed with real life events at the moment but we can only control our little corner of the world to the best of our ability and trust in the universe .
Candlelight I hope Himself is a bit cheerier now and you both enjoy today . He seems so much improved now and you must be so relieved after the nightmare times you went through . Make the most of it .
Lainey Hope today goes well for you and mum today . It is lovely how loved and cared for she is and how much it has helped keep her spirits up .Floss I would love your recipe for that rosemary jelly . No pressure I know you are a busy lady .
Hoglet Sorry for confusing your knee with my shoulder ! can you tell it's still bothering me ? Hope you get back on the bike as soon as possible it must be so frustrating .
Nargle born under the sign of cancer I am ruled by the moon and have always loved it . I'll be like the hare out in the garden gazing up at the full moon .
Hi to SM I hope things aren't too full on work wise at the moment . It makes me grateful to all the farming families like yours to follow the hard work you all put in through the seasons . As you say in your signature " no farms , no food "
Take care all and thanks to all who post and follow

There but for fortune go you and I.
  • And now a seperate one for Fuds .
I really wish you could manage to see how very far you've come over the years and how much many of us care for the lovely woman you've become .
You have made your little family the very core of your being and faced challenges which would have flattened most people . Having that knowledge of your genetic history is a powerful tool it will keep helping you to challenge those demons in the knowledge life doesn't have to follow a pattern from the past . You will add to feelings of security over time although after past events I can understand why you feel the wobbles every now and then .
I know it's been said a number of times bur you have been seriously ill over a long period and as one who has had both pleurisy and pneumonia in the past I remember how long it took for the situation to return to normal . It leaves you low , depressed and frustrated but you will get better and move back into full on homemaker mode . Trust me I know .
I for one am proud of how far you've come over the years while you've had to deal with so much worry and stress . I even saw you give a mature response to a poster on another thread - personally I don't even bother , heads and brick walls come to mind on that one !
Anyway I would say that charity shop has your name written all over it . It sounds like a charity should be - if you decide to go for it I'll be sending good vibes your way . In fact I'll include you in my nightly lavender candle .
    Look after you and yours
    Much love polly x

Crumbs. Thank you for your lovely gee up. I don't actually know how to respond polly. I know you've read for years and will no doubt have seen some immature posting from me too so it means a great deal to know that good people see the good side to me and that I am just a little lass who is trying to make good of rubbish situations with positivity.

Stamping out my wobble while typing and reaching for my crisp sandwich. ;)

That leads me to tea - burgers aquired free from the lidl surprises promotion. Yummy in a bun with little effort ;)

HI again Fuds . I've said before I've always been interested in your posts if that makes sense . You really wanted to change things but kept getting side tracked on the journey . As a mum of four of two different generations I have seen the pressures there were to have the so called perfect life if you threw enough money at it , and as you know thereby lies madness !
I was very blessed to grow up at a time when social media was not in existence and everyone was pretty much in the same boat and did what they could from payday to payday ( weekly back then )
Many times I have blessed being born to parents who loved us and did what they could with what was available .
Not everyone has that good fortune , I know Lyn had her struggles in the early days but here she is urging the osers onward .
You are very much in the zone now and I'm sure most of the time you feel content and settled .
I do feel proud of you , you've learned the lessons of life the hard way .
Regarding the charity shop I would really have a think about moving to the community one . I have stopped supporting a number of charities over the past few years due to the corporate structure and high salaries . It probably cost them more than my monthly direct debits to inundate me with paper and then phone requests to increase my monthly payments . Add in the stickers and calender freebies sent as freebies over the year and I voted with my feet after many years . I believe as much as possible donations from all sources should be used for the right purpose and I now favour the community approach above the big guns . It sounds to me as though it would fit your ethics and sounds much more laid back and could lead to friends with a similar outlook to yourself .
Well done on the freebie burgers , I'll shut up now , as you were all .

  • We went to Salisbury!!! first time I've been into the centre and first time I've been close to the Cathedral, such a beautiful building with peaceful and beautifully kept surroundings outside. We went to the refectory and had a coffee and a lovely walk round the grassed area while the kids from the Cathedral school were whizzing about changing classrooms between lessons, nice to be there. Parts of the city are really old and quite lovely but unfortunately in terms of the shops it could be anywhere else in the country, same names, same goods, same appearance. We tried to call in at a garden centre for lunch on the way home but we'd only just got through the door when a management chappie came and told us that sadly there was only very limited choice of snack foods in the restaurant today as the main Chefs father had been taken suddenly ill and he'd had to just drop everything and go. We opted to drive home and go to our local garden centre for a nice jacket potato as we also needed to get some terracotta pots for my bulbs for indoors in the spring.

FUDS we really ARE proud of you y'know, the journey you've been on through your young life has been definitely 'not beside still waters' and qualifies you for 'the steep and rugged pathway' of the psalm. What you've faced, dealt with and overcome would have flattened most people and left them so depleted that they'd have given in and given up. You though, give yourself a shake, get yourself up and keep on pushing back at life until you get forward momentum again, time after time after time. You really ought to be proud of the strong and determined woman you've become, we are!!!
