Good morning all..
MLW..o poor docky..give him hugs from all us girlies..so glad he has a great mumma and pappa like you two..i know he will have a great time with you two and i bet he and Zebra will be the best of mates..
Candlelight..hi..so glad your dd physio is going well..yes i would be a bit shaky about having the support removed too..the walking stick sounds fantastic..you are lovely..
We will be doing our Easter holiday from Good Friday..most schools around here break up on Friday for 2 weeks..and go back the day after Easter sunday..
Well we have been busy..started our project on British Birds ..Fern has been researching on the internet and reading books..we have been watching videos on youtube of birds building nests and chicks hatching and then learning to fly..spent 3 hours the other day watching them..
They made a nest from twigs to see if they could..i printed off some pictures of nests and the birds that go in them and they had to match them up..then find out how many eggs and what colour the eggs are..we made foam eggs and Fern used some little eggs we bought from £land to fill her nest...i have hung them up on the door..we also labelled the birds and then coloured in with the right markings and colourings..
I found lots of birds to print off..we put them on card and hung them from the lovely beech branch above my mirror in the living room.
We have also been doing more verb, noun and adjectives work as well..
I did a very large shop and it arrived yesterday..so i am all stocked up again..i did get a bonus..we found 3 jars of Douwe Egberts coffee at the bottom of the bags..i never ordered them..i rang the SM they came from to say they are not mine..i got told to keep them..so i have coffee for months now..
We have been busy also in the garden..planting Primroses..and pruning some deadwood..Iris is great at weeding..i have treated them to a gardening tool kit each..and gloves..one pink one blue..i am planning on getting them a little metal bucket each to keep their tools in..we have kinda started to decorate the Wendy house..got some cheap rugs in it..and Dadddy has put a new window in..its so cosy in there..
My friend popped over and brought a huge bag of girls clothes..wowsers..i won't need to buy anything this summer..t-shirts,skirts,shorts and dresses..some will need to be altered but i ain't complaining lol..
Hoglet..wow i admire your next project in cross stitch..lol at the cats..is it going to be expensive to get the insulation..sorry nosey aren't i..free rugby..o my word i would be in heaven..i love rugby..
Well thats me..o before i go we have 3 ducks that seem to love our garden shed roof..they have been here for a few days now..2 males and female..we have frog spawn in the pond too..
hope your all well
love

Hi Everyone :-)
FTM - great news re the free coffee and the clothes for your girls! The ducks sound like they've made themselves at home on your shed roof. The next cross stitch is an ancient map of the world hence why its so big, I'd like to get one of those free standing frames to work on it with, but for a start I can't find one for sale here anywhere, and also we probably don't really have the room. I'm budgeting for the insulation to be around about the equivalent of 1000 pounds, but hoping for less - would much rather over budget and be pleasantly surprised! Free rugby is the best!
We have guavas ripening on our neighbour's tree which overhangs our garden. It's legal here to take anything overhanging your garden, so that'll be some more guava jam this year I think - yum! There are 2 guava trees - one red and one yellow, but the red ones are much nicer than the yellow ones I think. The birds can have the yellow ones..!
Looks like my parents' ancient cat is sadly on his last legs, they've had him since he was a kitten. He's had a good life with them but it's always hard to say goodbye. He's been given some antibiotics but the prognosis is not good :-(
looks like the good weather will hold for the weekend
enjoy your evenings everyone :-)

Good afternoon everyone,
Hope you are all OK. Much colder here today and I am a bit off colour(have a touch of cystitis)TMI!!. I will be fine tomorrow I think I have caught it in time.
Lyn I hope you and DD have a wonderful time in Paris and that the sun shines for you. I love Paris, well I love France altogether and we have had some lovely visits there.
FTM have you read Sue's blog" Our new life in the country" today, because your girls are mentioned re: the names of the chickens, Fern and Iris will love it. Well done with the coffee, and a good brand as well. Will the girls be making some decorations for Easter? I used to cut a branch from the garden, paint it white and hang mini eggs from it held by different coloured ribbons, it always looked so pretty.
Hoglet sorry about Mum and Dad's cat, as you say he has had a good life but it is still so difficult to make that decision. I am sure they will do what is right.
I hope Docky is now back to his old self.Lyn, and probably missing his Daddi this weekend.
We are having a quiet weekend just the usual trip to DD1 although she is able to do more for herself. Took her to the surgeon on Thursday and the bone isn't healing as fast as it should, which is a blow. She can leave the leg brace off when she is at home, but must wear it when outside, still on 2 crutches. She will get there, it will just take a little longer.
Will do some baking tomorrow, had planned today but not feeling 100% so won't hurt until tomorrow.
To everyone else hope you are all OK and AOT hope you have recovered from your fall.
Much love

Hi CANDLELIGHT Docky's sulking and has spent most of the last 2 days laying in the hall pointing at the front door with his head on his paws!!! Dadi and big sister should be back later this evening whereupon he will transform into a squirmy licky pingy thing and his world will be restored!!! Hope your cistitis clears quickly, it's very uncomfortable isn't it? Looking forward very much to the visit to Paris, we leave at 7.10am on Tuesday so will have to leave here at 5ish to get checked in etc. luckily we're going from the local airport so He Who Knows is dropping us off and picking us up late on Sunday evening following. DD1 is singing this afternoon and he'll pick her up from the venue and they'll come straight homeafter that and Docky will be a happy boy again, Lyn xxx.0

Have a lovely time in Paris MrsL.
Candlelight, hope you feel better soon x
Hi to everyone, sorry I have been quiet!
In-laws are coming over for lunch tomorrow which I'm looking forward to.
We're trying to have a bit of a clear out today, OH is sorting out computer stuff (of which he has a lot) and I'm having a tidy up in the larder. We have so much in there I couldn't get in, it's starting to look better and I have found lots of things I had forgotten we had! Time to run the stocks down I think!
Have a lovely weekend all x0 -
They're back and Docky's happy again. I couldn't work out why he was so twitchy and pacing at 5 o clock and then I got the please make a cuppa phone call from 10 minutes out, he must have known they were on their way and an hour and a half early, clever Docky xxx.0

It's amazing the sense animals have isn't it? My dad tells the story of when he said to my mum he was going to take the dogs for a "w-a-l-k", spelling the word out, when the terrier started bouncing around excitedly. He looked at mum and said "blinking dog can spell as well!"
Beef is resting, veggies all prepared and a leek and mushroom lasagne (leeks from the garden) is ready to go in the oven.
Fire is lit as it feels quite dank here today. Having a well earned five minutes before I get everything on the go.0
