    I have no internet connection although wireless says otherwise. Do I need to uninstall McAfee also?

    I've uninstalled McAfee,, windows has checked connectivity and says problem with firewall settings. It says check settings for the http port 80, https port 443 and ftp port 21 what do I do?

    Try the following:

    Close any Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.

    Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.

    Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

    Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.

    In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.

    When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, click Close, click OK, and then click OK again.

    Check that you don't have Proxy Server enabled. Go to Control Panel then Internet Options and select the Connections tab.
    Click the LAN Settings button and make sure the option to use a Proxy Server isn't ticked.

    Sorry can't type fast enough, just saw espresso's post, follow that one.

    Hi RIk, haven't yet as you can see from other posts, I'm at the point of throwing out window, other half is going to call virgin because he thinks fault is with them? We are both clueless. Can't do anything now as comp is in kids room and their in bed, so may take ! few days to resolve, can I come back for. advice later in week?

    I could at the time but it only lasted for about 30 mins then it went off. So had to give up. Were going to speak to virgin. Then ill follow ypur advice. Speak soon hopefully. Viv
