How long before you seed? Weed killer usually works on contact with the weeds so may not work and may affect the grass seed when you sow. Have a look on the rolawn site, they often have good tips

Great Thanks I will take a look today :) I didn't manage to get it done as it rained - and now its hail stoning -So looks like it's put off again :(- Thats what happens in Sunny Manchester :rotfl:
I am only going off what someone told me briefly a while back that you are to plant grass seeds in April ??? so I guessed I am doing it then!! I honestly no absolutely Nothing about gardening !!!

mumof5- I will also take a look at that candle website Thanks :)
Yes I also find Clarks shoes definatelty last longer with dd , I purchased her some in the sales that are a size bigger only £12 for school - you could get a couple of sizes bigger in their sale ?? My dad's ex girlfriend is the manager there { not local to me } she said always make sure you get the correct width size this doesn't change really !! TIP - Pinch their sides of their foot the outer part after the toes and their should be some give , that then is the easiest way of checking it fits correctly . The small toe should also be 1/4 down the shoe for length of fitting .
If they stay in good condition you can always sell them on ebay for your cash towards a new pair - I do that with dd's as they are clarks - I understand boys shoes probably scrape more thow due to different activities .

    Good Morning ladies

mummyof5 - Another vote for Clarks or Start-rite shoes. My littlies shoes last them a school year. I clean them every weekend. It really is a case of you get what you pay for.

Thanks for your kind words Dusty. I calmed down with the help of a few chocolate biscuits.:o

DS1 has already messed up his day but not getting up this morning. The laptop is password protected and only DH and I have the passwords so he can't apply for the course online.

I'm finishing work in 30 mins and then I'll take him to the youth centre about the Jamie Oliver course. When he's done that he's going in to work with my SIL so he will have to do it tomorrow and get it in the post by lunchtime in order to arrive by 31st.

More ironing done this morning. The downstairs basket is empty the upstairs one is overflowing. I must tackle the littlies room this afternoon it really is a ROD.

I know it's a bit OT but can I ask your help/advice please. I am struggling to do everything as have typing work which I get paid for, but am also trying desperately to declutter by giving to CS, putting on eb*y, doing cooking, sorting out kids, walking the dog, trying to help DH with his filing system and I always find that housework falls to the bottom of the order. The thing is it gets top of me and the more I leave it the worse it gets but I don't seem to be able to do all I have to do. I've also started my Level 2 Maths course and I need to be studying that but I can't seem to manage it - if I pass I'll get an NVQ which will be really good to have.

DH likes me to be able to sit down with him in the evening (I used to type in the evening but he's not happy with that) and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now. I don't know how on earth I'd manage if I had a proper job - how you guys who work do it all is beyond me!

Does anyone have any suggestions please?[/QUOTE]

I have been in a similar boat as you for a while , have now got a bit more order into things thow - Im still working on it though;) just a few things I have found are now working for me and have plans to do .

If you have an ipad / smart phone or small item for the internet { I say small due to thieves :( } take alll pics for ebay at home and add them . Whilst out with the dog if he/ she runs around take 15 mins to sit down and add listings , or do study work . You can also do this if you take children to a indoor fun zone whilst there playing in the fun balls / park etc whilst watching them .15 mins a day doing this is minimum of 1 and half hrs work a week you have saved ;)
Flying housework - While tea is on - kids are doing homework or other entertainment { drawing / painting etc } do some flying for 1/2 hr a day - this is 3 and a half hrs a week done ;)
Take 2 nights a week you are going to set up to do work etc and explain to oh which nights these will be - Have everything prepared for then and set your self a cut off time when you will switch pc off etc and stick to it !! I do this on the nights oh watches programmes I don't like - but he hasn't realized this :rotfl:
Have 2 set nights where you and oh - kids aswell plan a chillling night together - going out whatever - so you can relax and de stress - Mine is weekend .
I have started getting up half an hour earlier and starting on housework and have found this has helped and also going to bed at a reasonable time rather than typing away and being tired and lethargic the next day .

Good luck on passing your exam :D

Right today is going to be the day. Have spent last three hours doing paperwork for my voluntary job and have got most of that done, will now drop it off there and get back again. Have decided that I often waste Fridays when I have so much to do, so have decided that today and tomorrow is getting things done time as I dont have work tomorrow this week.
Going to come back make my soup, finish all my paperwork, do the letters to the debtors that I have been meaning to do. Once I have finished the whole list in my diary I am then off to clear the garden ready for OH to start it tomorrow. Then I will finish all my flyladys list.

Once I have done all these I am going to cook us a lovely slimming world meal as I am determined to get on with it this week, and then put my feet up for the same again tomorrow. Will update later whether I manage to stick to this today.

had to smile when Ds came home after part of the days challenge being remind kids to bring pe kit hope to wash. Ds says to me have you found my jumper yet? its been missing about 3 weeks i thought it was somewhere in his room but no he handed me a bag that weighed a ton in it was a sopping wet very stinky jumper that had been found in the playground:o i thought about throwng it away but it was lomst new and not cheap so i put it through two wash cycles and got it dry over night it now smells fine its just a bit baggyier than i remmeber it.
im finishing off yesterdy list an d tacking Ds room today.

Mummyyof5 - just read your post:

Dont want to clog up thread but just after a bit of help..My LO is 5 and a real boy..he is having new school shoes approx every 3 weeks..its crippling me...do Clarks really last longer?...ie I am paying about £12 a pair every 3 weeks......His shoes arent full of holes but scuffed fronts..and look really worn etc...OH says I am too fussy but really cant send him to school in shoes like that..Thanks in advance..

    Love to all xx

Have you tried shoe polish to cover the scuffs? Or a special scuff covering? Most shoe shops sell some - see link below as an example:

    http://www.timpson.co.uk/shop/c/20/shoe-care/s/120/shoe-polish/g/594/timpson-scuff-cover

And if you start teaching LO to do his own polishing (with lots of newspaper to protect the floor) he'll learn a useful skill and perhaps not want to mess up his hard work with more scuffs:) When I was growing up polishing shoes started young, and was followed by polishing the brasses (candlesticks etc) for my Mum. I loved seeing the shine come back on things, but I'm sure the smell of the polish helped too :rotfl:

    Hope this helps
