Another phone call for DS1 - new team taking over young person's employment interests. We had a general chat and I told him the plan was for DS1 to start A levels in September.

The man asks if we've applied yet?
No I laugh it's not til September
Closing date for applications is 31.1.12 he tells me.
    I start hyperventillating and P A N I C

I have looked at the online application form and noted that he needs an educational reference. Fortunatly he's at college tonight for an exam. He is going to ask his tutor if she will provide a reference for him. I dropped him at the bus stop and came home then checked the application form again. The reference has to be submitted with the application form. I try to phone and text DS1 but no reply. When I pick him up from college he swears at me and refuses to go back in to ask her. I explain to him that he has 2 days to sort this out and that this really is the best option. he refuses with more abusive language. We drive the 25 minute journey home in silence - if it had been summer I would have made him walk.

Why is everything so stressful with this one child. Nothing unexpected comes flying out of the woodwork with the other 4. I'm getting to old for this and he's the 2nd eldest. HELP!!!!!!!

On the flying side of things I've done loads of ironing - now to put it all away....

Mumto5 hugs. Boys deal with things with outbursts, often abusive and don't budge. Guessing he is between 16 and 18? I live with 2 of them so I understand your frustration. Give him the silent treatment back or if you have to say something just calmly state you are very disappointment and hurt by his attitude, say no more. They often do come around to your thinking but then want you to fix it for them. Do you think the exam may not have gone well so he was stressed? I know you are trying so hard and it is tough with DH working and not being able to help. Sleep on it sweetie and try not to dwell. Is there any flexibility on sending the extra information?

Yes Clarks last longer.. and of course you can send them to school in scuffed shoes.. so long a they dont let water in they are fine.. lived in shoes are the best kind, they are the ones which show you let your child be a child... and in the current sale at clarks you can pick up shoes for about £10.. Squeaks were £7!!! Order online and have them delivered to the shop and go pick them up!
