What i didnt like was the conversation that followed paying this bill......
Garage manager: 'your steering rack is likely to need replacing imminently.....'
Me: 'ball park figure...'
Manager: '£350.'
Me: 'WT....????'
Not out loud but bloody hell, just start getting my head around being MSE and get a kick in the teeth. Really going to try and tighten my belt.
Sorry for the rant.
On the upside made dinner out of leftovers - Courgette, carrot, onion and sweet potato rostis, with lots to freeze and treated myself to HM fairy cakes.
Hope everyone is well.

I've spent a tenner today. My ds got sent home ill from nursery today and has been far too cuddly and snuggly for me to actually make anything for dinner. So OH and I have gone halves on takeaway and emergency cider.
Ah well, at least it's once a fortnight now instead of a couple of times a week.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

Hi all
My goodness yesterday was a long day of eating and drinking. Write off!!!
My dad paid for lunch which was lovely, but then we met my mum for a drink as she'd finished work, so I bought the round £12. I also bought her a big bunch of flowers on the way to see her as she's been a little down £8. Then dad went off, we went home, but we bought munchies to watch a film with (and have a bottle and a half of wine between us, I so didn't need any more!!!), so I spent £8 on that. Plus milk, but that was from grocery budget.
So, blown the budget and spendy day yesterday. Will have to rejig everything. On the upside, when we go out on Monday for dad's birthday (going here, I can't wait!), mum is paying for mine and I'm driving, so that means there isn't anything I need to keep money aside for.
Sun 22 Jan: True NSD
Mon 23 Jan: AL, £6.51 Tesco, MOT from Car Fund budget, small fresh shop from Food budget
Tue 24 Jan: AL, True NSD
Wed 25 Jan: £7.39 2x 10 cigs and bottle water
Thu 26 Jan: AL, £28 on flowers, drinks and nibbles
Planned - Fri 27 Jan: AL, NSD
Total so far: £41.90 :eek:/£15.60
So much for my budget, but it was unplanned when I made the budget so I can't help it.
Ok, I have £6.07 "spends" left until I get paid Tuesday, so £1.50 a day. I have £3.77 "food" left which is fine as will only need milk 89p and some fresh veg which I'll get YS'd or on offer. And I have £20 for petrol which I'll have to put in today as running on fumes.
So, completely do-able, just a little tight!
Oh! And I have £10 still put aside to finish off dad's birthday present, but I have no idea what to get him! He has chocolate and a clock so far for his man shed in the garden. The easy option is to get 4 real ale bottles, but it's a bit boring. Any ideas? He's 62 and retired and doesn't read or watch films or anything so books, dvd's etc are pointless.
