Hi guys
Everyone is doing so well so far this week! :j
So... Super Scrimpers... what did we think? I've just made my comments on the OS thread for it, but I have to say I was so unbelievably shocked at how much the family spent! For those who didn't see it, it was a family of 5 and they were spending £200 a WEEK on food alone! Then they got given a challenge to live off £50 for the week for food, however it was such a con, because actually it was only for their evening meals! We didn't see what they had for breakfast or lunch or how they paid for it! And they basically didn't even have to try because it was such a good budget, so they had really good meals, but came across like they were suffering! It was so insane. :rotfl:

Welcome Sammy246, and good luck with your first weekly spend challenge. :j
Some of us find it easier to keep track of our spends by posting regularly on here, including me. I find if i am telling others what i am spending/ wasting my money on it stops me spending on the silly things i dont need.

Hi all
Haven't left the house today and won't be now! Woo hoo! Have started clearing my rooma bit and taking pics of my stuff to eBay - couple of techie issues getting pics onto laptop...so will complete tomorrow after I don't want to throw my phone out the window! Going to finish my sorting out tonight though so I at least acheive something today! True NSD for me, yay!
EverTheOptimist I hope your MOT goes as well as mine did! Good luck sammy246! What did you think of Super Scrimpers wannabee_in_credit? Nice to see you scotmumof3 - I would have felt like my right arm was cut off! Well done on the NSDs Bailey's Babe, scotmumof3 and freebyfifty!

Ok, having wasted the last 2 hours reading the news online, I'm going to make a coffee and continue sorting my room out! It's a large room at my parents, but tent shaped as I'm in the roof, so not much storage. Consequently I have boxes everywhere and not being the most naturally tidy of people (bizarre isn't it, as I'm so OCD elsewhere in my life!) if I don't put stuff away it becomes rapidly unbearable. Living with a flat's worth of stuff in one room is not too much fun! Roll on September!
90210 tonight... woop woop!!!

I've managed another nsd today so still at 0 so far...
As for superscrimpers, it's ok. I may sound snobbish here but I think there's being frugal and then just being really tight. I think some of the home made decorations etc that they do are really naff. I wouldn't bang holes in an old bean tin to make a lantern for example.
Some of the tips are good. I didn't know the thing about the 20p to check tyre tread on the car.
I too was amazed at the waste that family produced. I don't know if I could spend £200 a week on groceries if I tried to be honest.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Evening all
Sunday - NSD :j
Monday - Work - NSD :j
Tuesday - Work and work course 8.30 - 20.00 so no time to spend NSD :j
Wednesday - Work - NSD ?
Thursday - Day off - MOT and Service (another budget) can't leave the house as no car..... NSD ?
Friday - work - NSD ?
Thanks LC - praying for a cheap MOT and service, do have some money budgetted but can pay off CC more quickly if car doesn't cost so much, also only going for 6 months tax and then a year in July. I know it's more MSE to go for the year every time but need to space all my car stuff out and MOT, service and tax every Jan is a killer.
Hope everyone is doing ok physically, mentally and monetary.
