I received my secured card today and activated it, however it seems to be Mastercard and doesn't look like the Capital One Classic (as shown on the site) as it's grey but I'm not complaining. :D

Thats great :), I received a Decline letter a few days ago after id sent off the credit agreement oh well:cool:.

So Ive got a Sim only contract deal to build up my credit score :D

  • I applied for this card and was accepted , i recieved the email to pay the £49 deposit. I payed. However i haven't ever gotten a Credit Agreement to sign through the post... is that bad? The second email said my card and PIN will be sent out ASAP as they recieved payment.

Nope, I didn't get a credit agreement to sign all of it was signed online where I had to enter my name into a few boxes.

  • How long did it take to hear anything from them after you paid the deposit?

I'm slightly worried. I paid the deposit by debit card & immediately after I entered my verified by visa password, their website crashed. The deposit has been taken from my bank account, but I haven't heard anything back from capital one, not even an email acknowledging payment. That was a week ago.

I got a email a few hours later thanking me for payment, Try logging into to the security sum page again, It should say you have already payed and not let you.

  • Thanks.

I never received an email, but I took your advice & logged into the security sum payment page and got the message "You've already paid your security sum. Your card will arrive in the post 7-10 working days following your payment."

I can relax a bit now. I'll start to panic again in another week, if I still haven't heard anything.
I'm not desperate for the credit (if I was, I wouldn't have paid a £200 deposit for a £200 limit, I'd have just spent the £200) but was beginning to think that the payment had got lost in their system.

Might just be better to give them a quick ring to put your mind at rest they can advise if they have received payment. Dont worry though because the proof is on your bank statement:)

  • I just rang them and they have received my payment and my account is set up. They say that they don't usually send out confirmation emails.

It seems it took a while for payment to reach them though. They have it in their system that I paid on 06/03 and my online banking says I paid on 29/02, need to remember this when I'm paying my bill.

At least it's sorted & I can start getting some green dots on my credit file.
