Capital One secured credit card

My wife applied and was sent a letter asking for a deposit of £99 so she filled in the agreement and sent it off and checked her emails and heard nothing.
Today she gets another letter saying she's been accepted but now they only want £49 so I don't know what the hell is going on?
She will fill it in and wait for the email again and hope it comes this time but at least its cheaper this timeI'm not poor i'm just skint0 -

Well Capital one sent me a card even when I still have a default with them but its six years old in July although sold to Lowell's and its un paid.
The wife has a default the same as me and they are still giving her one and drop the amount of deposit they want.
I'm not working and Capital one and Vanquis accepted me so you could try Vanquis?
Sorry about the declineI'm not poor i'm just skint0 -

Would you mind saying what kind of card they use either Visa or Mastercard for their Secured Cards? I guess it would look exactly the same as the Capital One Classic but I may be wrong.0 -
why don't you appeal D34N? I applied last a few weeks ago and got a letter asking me to submit my ID. I presume that as good as means i've been accepted for the classic card however upon reading what you've just said, i'm not so sure now.0

They use visa for their secured cards but I presume its just the same as the standard classic.
I know my Vanquis and Capital one are visa and I presume the secured will be just the same as the classic.I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -

They probably just don't like me lol, I must admit my credit rating is really bad. But i realize my mistakes now and want to start rebuilding it. I would of took the offer even if it was a £200.00 deposit and credit limit. Ive yet to receive a letter yet about the decision, You never know i might end up getting a letter telling me to pay the deposit :rotfl:
How would i go about appealing? I was a bit disappointed as i thought id been accepted due to the letter saying "We can approve you right away with out any further credit checks"
boogiemaster: Ive applyed before it wont let me apply again as its not been six months, Thanks for the suggestion though
I will probably go for the cash plus prepaid card if nothing comes of this 1Survey earnings=£

I was declined for everything but did have three defaults on my credit file last year and the last one will drop off in July this year.
Declined for Barclaycard Aqua Capital one Vanquis and all the major catalogues and managed to blow up computers when my address was typed in.
Then applied for JD Williams catalogue and Simply Be and was accepted and given a limit of £125 that went to £1300 after about seven payments but after about five payments I was accepted for Kay's.
After I had the catalogues about six months I applied to Vanquis and Capital one and was accepted for both and given £250 on Vanquis and £200 on Capital one.
So with paying the catalogues for a few months it helped me get accepted for the credit cards but hopefully after six months of payments I will try to get a better credit card and hopefully a higher limit.I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -
I received my secured card today and activated it, however it seems to be Mastercard and doesn't look like the Capital One Classic (as shown on the site) as it's grey but I'm not complaining.0
