Help MBE grow his dinner 2012

Well, I think it's down to too much swanning off for Rugby, Stag Dos and Weddings along with too much drinking and not enough attention given to the crops!
So consider yourself admonished quite severely.0 -
you should be ashamed of yourself. Even I can grow potatoes.0

MBE bad luck on the spuds I took mine out ages ago maybe you left them too late.
Re greenhouses thanks for the suggestion but only South facing room I have is my 8 x 2 veg patch so it would take up too much room. Also the other side is straight North so that is no good. I do not like tomatoes or chillies so only big thing I would put in there would be cucumber and that can go in after the seedlings have come out. Will have a think about it we have very strong winds here as we are on the Coast so anything flimsy would fly away.Save £12k in 25 No 49

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

Wow! Spud damage as well as headaches! :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Sorry I have been missing for a while garden still doing fine had loads of green beans and new plants planted late are coming along nicely so worth doing will remember for next year. Put some potatoes in for Christmas but that is about it. About to empty my pots to get some winter colour in. Planning to plant up some large black bucket I have and put them on the empty vey pacth to make it look a bit more interesting in Winter.
Saw this and I really really would like a green house but have no space. I got so fed up with having my seedling by the sliding door this would be so much nice and I think it would look ok on the patio slabs it would be South facing though? Is that too hot?Cheapest I can find it is £179 (that's £20 off) guessing the are going cheap this time of year.
Is this any good? Maybe not the same quality as yours but might still do a turn, and you could probably get it cheaper at one of Homebases discount days where you get at least 15% off.

Guiltily waves to Mrbadexample and promises to make it next year for the new thread, as hopefully the garden will be in a bit more order (took down several 20+ foot conifers at the weekend and discovered another 8ft of garden. Boy do these things grow.
Oh and those spuds are disgusting!
PS Little Vics I grew spuds too this year I didn't plant. They are a lovely shade of pink and I think I threw some random potatoes in the ground 2 years ago and never had much luck. Mind you only got about half a dozen, but that's not the point.
Tomatoes were a disaster again. None of them grew to much more than a marble in size, cute though.0 -
Thanks Cheekyweegit it's quite a lot smaller so might go flying in the winds but worth knowing they do it in other place.
Potatoes in random places I get that too. Really annoying but it's hard to spot them all.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I agree, taken his eye off the ball this year, far to much time galavanting around enjoying himself.0 -

 What, sweet red peppers like my Nardello?I agree, taken his eye off the ball this year, far to much time galavanting around enjoying himself.
Yes, it's been a good year. Well, not especially for the garden, but in other respects quite memorable. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Yes, guilty sounds about right!
What are you going to do with the extra 8' then? I'd really like to find an extra 8' of garden! If it's full of tree roots then you should probably put a greenhouse there.
And yes, the spuds are minging. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
