I'm not sure there's anything more irritating than realising I haven't got all the bits I should and that I've thrown out the receipt...Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

There's no instructions! :eek:I'm not sure there's anything more irritating than realising I haven't got all the bits I should and that I've thrown out the receipt...
Are you sure?
Can you butcher the wee thing you have and borrow parts from that?
At least you'd get more in the big thing.Herman - MP for all!0 -

I found the instructionsyep I'm sure.
Already took down the wee one before I started building the big one! They don't have the same parts, typical!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Drastic action is required. I'm going to try to build the blowaway walk in greenhouse... It might not go wellPictures will be required. :rotfl:They don't have the same parts, typical!
Did you manage to get it up in the end?
and no I couldn't think of another way of saying that other than asking if it was erected yet and that sounded worse
Back in April I gave my MIL a small tomato plant and she planted it in a trough and left it outside.
There was me all May hardening off properly, covering them with polythene at night when eve temps went below 10c and today hers is covered in red ready to eat toms, green toms and flowers, no pinching out, left to sprawl, and she has feed it miracle grow once she said. Mine have some green toms and that's it
Next year I'm going the Sambucus Nigra route and treat them tough. It's a lot easier.0 -
I also treated my tomatoes tough - or rather didn`t treat them at all really because after potting them up they flopped all over the place so I gave them a quick drink, put them outside and left them to it. That was in mid May and I have already had three pickings with plenty more still to come.
My main occupation in the garden this year seems to be slaughtering snails - I have never seen so many as I have here. At my previous house I used to get maybe half a dozen congregating in the top of the waterbutt and that was it.
Now it seems to be the turn of the slugs - really large fat ones that I find rather difficult to pick up without a shell to grab hold of so when I can, I just give them a sprinkle of salt and walk away before they explode. The ones that are clinging to the plant-life are more of a problem but somehow I do manage to pick them off before giving them the salt treatment at the side of the path. No I do not wear gloves to do it - just my bare hands!0 -
 Hello! Hope everyone is well!
I haven't been posting for a couple of weeks, but I have been reading the posts on the bus on my phone - just haven't had anything at all to report. So jealous of those of you who have been munching away on your fruit and veg, especially those with strawberries since my didn't livealso just as fed up with the rain as everyone else!!
Anyway due to the rain, I have shamefully neglected my entire garden and done NOTHING for weeks except water the indoor herbs/chilli/tomato and harvest a couple of bowls of salad leaves. But today I felt guilty and braved the rain to check on anything, and guess what? My one lonely courgette plant (although still small) has its first flower!!! Don't know if it's male or female, how do you check??
Also furtled around in carrot and radish pots and both are ready to harvest (I think)! Left them in but will retrieve them later today or tomorrow.
My two indoor chillies have four green chillies between them and plenty more flowers, I'm so proud! And all my herbs are doing well. Unfortunately I've eaten most of my salad and have neglected to plant more for staggered harvest, will do so this week but will have a few salad-less weeks due to my lazinessthink I'm still early enough to plant more of my carrots too, so will do so.

Took advantage of 2 dry days!!!! to mow the lawns. Goodness they needed it! I'd love a dry weekend next weekend to do them again!
My peas look like they're struggling. They're not very big. They are bearing fruits. How can I make sure the pods survive? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
