Been cheating a bit and playing a gentle game now and again. Otherwise I'd go mad.
Make sure you look after yourself fella! Don't try to rush the recovery, but keep active enough & it'll happen without you being aware of it. All of a sudden one day you'll realise that you're almost back to where you were.:)
& if I ever play you, I'll take you on the corners! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Part of stumpery in spring
Self sown fern attached to log
moss on log
under the ferns and everything else growing are some upright logs with ferns planted in them, honest!
last 2 cherries and very tasty they were too.
There must be a quicker way to resize the pics, it's taken me 20 mins to do those 5
The chilli peppers I put in the butler sink that had the garlic in have done bu**er all over the last 2 weeks, but my over wintered one has loads of little green chillis on itthe banana one I got from homebase for 25p has grown 2 leaves so far and the jamie oliver tomato plant for 25p hasn't done anything, so I've plonked it in the ground to see if that helps.
I've found some more dwarf french bean seeds, so I've decided to have one last go, or this could be the first year for 30 years I've not grown my own french beans:eek:
I'm going to plant them straight into flower buckets, copper tape around top and bottom, blue pellets, and in a large dish of sorts (yet to be found) with water in and raise the bucket up just above the water. Considered hiring 24 hour security but thought that might be going to far:rotfl:0 -

Nice stumpery. And yes, there must be.I've found some more dwarf french bean seeds, so I've decided to have one last go, or this could be the first year for 30 years I've not grown my own french beans:eek:
Now c'mon, there's no way you've been growing French beans since you were 4! :cool:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I've been cutting daffodils from my various gardens and putting them in vases since I was 5 (usually for mothers day!) does that count
Well out of 15 tomato plants I have one green tomato, just one  lots of flowers though, my 3 cucumber plants have flowers but naff all else although I have removed a snail from inside one of the flowers
My cauliflower and swede have been eaten nowt left, my squash and pumpkin plants have brown leaves and look ropey, my courgettes have loads of flowers but nothing else.
I have chucked a load more seeds in to replace the bolted, eaten ones so fingers crossed I might get something
I have a radish question if anyone can help, the few ones I managed to pull albeit a bit holey had really tough skin and didn't taste that nice, they were not that big so I don't understand what I am doing wrong. Any tips?
Annie that cherrie tree looks very small is it a miniature one?0 -
I cut 2 courgettes off last night but the end of one was mushy. It's not very big so I doubt it's because it's been there too long.
The flower that was on the end of it had fallen off and it was mushy too.
Ideas please? Is this yet another one of my plants that's doomed? It was the healthiest best looking one of the lot ironically.Herman - MP for all!0 -

I reckon that is the rain and humidity if you have had some sunshine, some of mine did that last year and I put it down to the weather, sorry not much useful advice really unless you do an Annie and get a brolly!0 -

Radishes are usually tough because they've been left too long. I'm not a fan of them but grow a few and mine this year have hardly any root at the time I would usually pull them, I assume because of the rain. I'm no help at all really :rotfl:
My MIL bought it for me last year, it's a minarette stella cherry, had loads of blossom in spring only to be knocked off after 48 hours due to heavy rain and wind, then it blew over last month in those well known summer gales and knocked off most of the cherries so I'm amazed I got any this year.I cut 2 courgettes off last night but the end of one was mushy. Soggy mushy flowers before they had even opened is why my biggest one has a brolly over it
The courgette will rot/fall off if it isn't pollinated, don't worry more will grow, and eventually the jet stream must change its pattern. Good job this isn't winter, we would have been snowed in for months :eek:0 -
Off until Tuesday. Do the honours please annie?
Cheers,
