HELP!
My cucumber plants (3 of them) all have 3"-4" cucs on them and also a number of baby cucs just starting to grow.
However, the leaves are now looking awful, yellowish and brown round the edges.
I can't see any beasties or insects so I'm assuming they are lacking in something?
I gave them a feed with tomato plant food but it hasn't helped. I really don't want to lose them at this stage so what can I do?
They are all in self contained raised planters, not in the ground.
The courgette plant that's in there too seems to be starting to be similarly affected.
I didn't think I was over watering but I'm not sure now. Maybe the soil is depleted since it's a raised bed? The leaves are worse nearer the bottom.Herman - MP for all!0 -
The toms that survived the last bad winds seem happier than they've been for a while. I'm surprised they look so good considering how awful they looked a couple of weeks ago.
Half of them were just twigs since I stripped off all the nasty leaves and branches. They seem to have just sprouted again all of a sudden.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I've just cut off my first cuc.
Lunch......
So how do I save the rest of them and make the plants look healthier? :undecidedHerman - MP for all!0 -

Bloomin' show off!
I was thinking of you when I posted the pics.
It was just to show you not to lose heart cos my toms looked worse than yours at one stage and they've bounced back.
I've turned into my Mum cos I seem to sing and hum to myself when I'm pottering. I think my toms liked it, so try singing to them. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -

I bet you were... and laughing
They were starting to perk up a little, then we had bad winds again! Honestly, I've given up on them, they can sit there and huff or just hurry up and get on with growing. I'm quite jealous of your cucumbers too, I lost that plant after about 2 days :rotfl:Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
I take it all back, I just went out for a nose at my plants... and....
I HAVE A TOMATO GROWING!!!!!

But garlic would be a good start, if it was someone else's frog.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Inspired to come out of lurkdom to say:
We have a toad - found him nestled under the verbascum just today! Woo hoo, slug eater in residence!
Hope you don't mind me butting in on your thread Mr BE - I have been following as we have dug up the lawn this year and have planted veggies instead0
