thanks MBE I didn't know Nilfisk did a pressure washer, Nilfisk is a good old Danish brand so I suppose I should support my country men -perfect choice nice that it's 110 bar more than the £90 Karcher i was looking at.

Not done anything today other than golf and socialising no rain here though - yet.

I've just saved you £30 then. :D I just went by the reviews, which were all pretty good.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

My toms have been in and out more often that something that gets shaken all about, because every time I take them outside to pot them out, it rains so I have to come back in again.

Your tomatoes are allowed out in the rain. It's actually good for them. :p
Remind me again why I do this, and more importantly why this thread isn't called Help Little Vics Grow Some Things That Aren't Potatoes 2012??

You do this because it's fun and you like it. :D And you're growing lots of things besides potatoes. I've never grown aubergines. Might have a go next year though - I had a really good brinjal bhaji last night so it's made me think it might be a good idea. :)

I have 4 squares with nothing in them at all yet, and not sure what put there. Had sort of planned to put onion sets in 2 of them, but seems like I'm a bit late for that now? Feels a little dull to put more lettuce/salad in, since I've already got 8 squares allocated to that.

chives, spring onions, cucumber, dwarf french beans, peppers, peas, swiss chard, spinach.

I've got the book, read loads of sites about sq ft gardening and think it's just too neat and organised for me. I'd like to be neat and organised in the garden but I'm not:o
Must go back and have a read of it.

Right, I've done it. Everything is now planted outside, and stuff the consequences, basically.

Ohh exciting! The OH came home with runner bean plants, a huge pot, giant canes and soil. His mum bought them for me, bless :)

I'm quite excited about them because it's something a little bit different

More golf today and my team actually won plus I got a bottle of wine for nearest the pin (sorry to non golfers). Anyway got home bought a new set of fiskars hand clippers for the lawn edges and move the lawn. Also got a new trowel the lat one is bent and not suitable for what I wanted it for. Dug up spuds, collected peas, spinach and lettuce for dinner with FIL - very nice.

Tomorrow I shall get the edges of the lawn cut as my mum is coming in Thursday and my garden has to look its best, will post some pictures then.
Got everything outside by the way Marigolds and mini sunflowers about to flower.

Hope you are all out flying the flag for the Queen I'm watching the concert on Telly

Stil thinking About the pressure washer think I shall get it on Amazon and use my Nectar points for something else.

we got an allotment on friday so we've been busy! :)

Anyone know what we can get in there still? I've planted some spare bush beans and 2 spare courgettes.

I've sowed some climbing beans and some squash plants but I'm not sure what else I could use the space for.

Cucumbers, leeks, potatoes (just about), more beans, more squash, more courgettes, beetroot, carrots, perennial veg.
Get some lateish brassica plants in.
    Peas still, mangetout.

Contrats on the allotment, I thought you had more than enough space at home? :D

I have plenty of space at home but now I have space for asparagus and globe artichokes and the fig tree. :) Thanks for the speedy response.

I feed 2 normally so I'm not sure why I'm growing so much :rotfl:

Brassicas are a no go mostly because the lottie is pretty much full of slugs and pigeons, as is home.

Beans and peas then. Will sow another round of peas

Help please guys....found a wee girl in the village who is trying to grow (2!) potatoes for the first time (bless :D).

She's got them in a big bag and when they started growing, she knew to put more earth over the top of them to earth them up BUT she didn't know she had to keep doing it, so they've been earthed up once and the stems and foliage are now at least a foot tall, (maybe a bit more) above the soil level. It's been maybe 3 or 4 weeks she thinks, since she did it last.

Is it too late to earth them up again?
