Well , it's definite then . I am the owner of a very dead Goosegog. It's not a major disaster, it was one of three plants I got from Mr A's last year. The rasberries that I actually wanted have survived, the gooseberry that only my Dad liked is no more!

Oh one more question! My chillies seem to have grown baby chilli plants in the same pot. Should I try to seperate them or just keep them together? :)

    Happy days. :D

Have just been notified of a win. :j

    Anyone else lucky?

I have a very tatty and much loved copy of that book, it's one of my favourite gardening books, it's so easy to read, and he has a nice way with words.
Also has a very good website which has a very good and busy forum too.
    You'll enjoy reading it.

Rain day 24:(.....my clay soil is so muddy now it feels and looks like November soil........cold and wet.
Rhubarb and raspberries look happy, but the wind keeps blowing the canes over over so need to tie to the fence. I've lost raspberries before due to the wind, but it's usually in the autumn not April.

I have noticed several weather sites saying the south east should be a bit warmer and dryer next week (I'll settle for 48 hours Wednesday and Thursday would be good and 16c just to get some things done)......which is good news as I'm way behind now with potting on, outdoor sowings etc and could find myself having to buy veg for longer than usual year:eek:

Feels like the only things growing in my garden are the slug and snail population.
  • Well, I battled the wind and dodged the showers around lunchtime to get some beans (runner & 'climbing') and celeriac sown in my new little pots and my little chilli plant collection from !!!!!!!!!!! arrived too so I potted them up too (1 each of Super Chilli F1, Razzamatazz and Prairie Fire). Oh and I potted up my Tigerella tomato seedlings, which direly needed it, too.

I still have baby fuchsias (which apparently I've been spelling wrong all my life) which need to be potted up, eventually for the hanging baskets, and French beans, sweet peas and sunflowers to sow in the other lots of pots, but that will have to wait. Hopefully tomorrow or over the weekend.

I also have some crocosmia corms to plant, which I ordered because my mum has them and I love their fiery colours, and also because they grow fast and I can put some of them in the 6' gap where next door can't be bothered to replace their fence...
I'm broke, not poor. Poor sounds permanent, broke can be fixed. (Thoroughly Modern Millie)

Photo please! I don't understand the question. :p

Did you sow more seed that has just germinated?
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I nearly missed the water butt from Aldi. Went in just before lunchtime, to find they were sold out.

Asked the manager to check other stores in the area - all sold out. :(

Had a look on the store locator...there's one in Sutton Coldfield. Well, they're all too posh for Aldi over there so I thought I'd check it out. Sure enough...

I bought 3. I've put one in already:

The other two are for friends. One is definitely spoken for, and I'm sure someone else asked me recently about one...if I can't remember who it was then I'll keep that one too. :D

I got them as plug plants. This was originally one plant but hopefully you can see the little mini one that has started growing alongside it. I wasn't kidding when I said I knew nothing :o

I think that's a weed. Doesn't look much like a chilli to me...but it might also be something good. I'd take it out and repot it - see what it turns into. ;)
