Ok mbe you being the carrot expert :p do I plant the seeds in the ground then separate,

    Yep. Do that. :p

Never grown peas. Think you just poke them in the ground. :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

    Greetings. Welcome. :D

And we all like a nice photo of what you've got. ;)

    I mean the GARDEN! :p

Thanks for the welcome. I have a wedge shaped garden which is mostly grass and faces east. Now the kids are teenagers they don't play footy in the garden now so we can think about starting a veggie patch.

I'll try and put up a photo if I can figure out how!
    Hi everyone,

I`ve got little gem lettuce on the go this year (never tried them before), 8 up as seedings now ready to plant out into a trough in a couple of weeks. 1000 seeds about £1.59 from Ebay. Land cress is also quite nice as a cut and come again.

Cress - never thought of that! Will have a look for some seeds :T

Welcome to the thread, Poundland and 99p stores sell bags of mixed salad leaves. I have 6 trays on the go through the summer rotating them so they get a chance to grow again, all done indoors.
When my new camera cable arrives tomorrow :j I should be able to post pics to show you what a tablespoon worth of seed looks like......it should have been a teaspoon, but I wasn't concentrating.

Lots of herb easy to understand herb info here: http://www.herbexpert.co.uk/GrowingHerbsCategory.html

Thanks for the link - looks like it can tell me everything I need to know about herbs!!

I have bought a bag of mixed lettuce leaf seeds and planted 2 big pots. In a couple of weeks I will do 2 more so will eventually have 6/8 for the summer to rotate (brilliant idea!!! - thanks)

I have planted Basil in two small pots and found spring onion seeds in garage along with some runner bean seeds which I have palnted. Don't know if they will come up (think they were quite old) but its worth a try.

    Oooooo i'm all excited now!

goji berry coming back to life(surrounded by weeds) and one of the grapes full of new growth(again, surrounded by weeds!).
not sure what order they have gone on in, but sure you can work out what's what.

Erm, no :o I'm glad you know what's what lisakay, I would have dug it all up as everything looks like weeds to me on that plot ~ I have a lot to learn :o

Well done on all the digging, it looks like it would have been back-breaking work.

Well done, mumsie, looks like you've been busy ~ I still haven't sown anything yet :o

I have old seeds as well & was told on here that they're definitely worth trying.

Old runner beans will almost certainly work, but it's a bit early for them yet. You don't want them being killed by a late frost. ;)
